RSVP's...seriously people?

RSVP's...seriously people?

So, yesterday was the RSVP date, and I totally understand that some people mail it back that day, which is perfectly fine. But, three of the four groomsmen did not respond yet, I know they are coming, but send back the card already! I got all of the bridesmaids cards with in days of sending them out (7 weeks ago), and they all had cute little notes on them too. But, here we stand, after the RSVP date and only 1/4 groomsmen responded. Shouldn't they be a little excited, or do guys just not understand? If they only knew how much excitement it brings me to go to the mailbox to find those little response cards.

Sorry ladies, I just needed to vent a little. It doesn't help that FH is on his bachelor party in Foxwoods right now. Thanks for listening!

My wedding is now officially in less than two weeks and I STILL haven't heard back from people!! I called/emailed/texted and got NOTHING!!!! Those people were not only put down as no's but they were written off... I know how you feel... People are just so oblivious sometimes!

Same here! Weddings make you realize who cares about you and who is worth caring about.

Soooo true!!! FH has a friend that he has known for 23 YEARS (almost my lifetime!!!) who didn't come to the bachelor party because he had to play in a softball game that weekend and isn't coming to the wedding becuase he had a 'previous engagement'...He wouldn't even give FH an idea of what that engagement was and FH didn't even care to ask....FH wanted to make this guy a freaking groomsmen and I am SO glad he didn't because that is the last thing we need to deal with!!

I understand some people forget, but the grooms men are all 30 or so, not 90! I know their life is not centered around our wedding, but send the card in people...esp the groomsmen! I will give my 70 + 90 year old aunts a grace period, they deserve a little window to be forgetful.

Some people are ridiculous. We have a couple of those too. To hell with them and better off realizing it too.

Two of my groomsmen stil havent formally sent me the card yet either! I finally just took their answers verbally! One is in his early 30s and the other in his early 40s so I can totally relate to that!!! I honestly think one of our GM is purposely NOT giving us the RSVP card because he knows it irks me so much and he loves to yank my chain!

They are guys, and they are in the wedding, so they probably think their attendance is obvious..

honestly if I were in a wedding before planning my own I'd probably not think to send the card back either

Im missing close to half.. But its just a phone call or email away, which I think I shouldnt have to go through

I really hope that I don't have to call, isn't that awkward? I know the bridal party is coming...just hoped I would get back replies I guess. Maybe they will all come on Monday

I Soooooooooooooooo understand what all of you are saying!!!
My RSVP date was two days ago and we still have like 30 people who haven't replied and we only invited like 120ppl!
It's soo annoying I mean either you're coming or not why procrastinate! Especially since this is not the first wedding ppl have been invited to so they know exactly what they need to do!!! Geesh!!!!

Not to let the non-RSVPers off the hook, but they are guys. They don't get stuff like RSVP-ing.

When I first started dating FH and we were invited somewhere, he would NEVER RSVP. Why? His response: 'they know I'll be there!'

Mind you, he was 38 when I met him!!! Seriously, they don't get it. I think the fact that I actually RSVP for us to his friends' events is what made them all like me!! His friends' wives joke about it now.

Update: STILL missing 10 RSVP's...mostly from my fathers relatives. Oh well, maybe I will ask him to call this weekend. Wish me luck!

Mine is tomorrow and I am having the same problem. I don't see what's so hard about returning the RSVP...so annoying.

Re: RSVP's...seriously people?

RSVPs have to be the most stressful part of the wedding IMO.. waiting and tracking down people..Its crazy.. So my wedding iis tommorow and last night I heard about 6 people who weren't coming.. Now this was through the grape vine.. They responded yes.. and well no tact at all.. MY father went crazy.. But luckliy called my hall today and actually got the money back.. Really didnt expect that!! So breathe and know that people arent the same well mannered as the rest of us.. And enjoy the time!!
