rude

I am a little annoyed with FI’s friend Steve (who is in our wedding party). We had our engagement party in November and Steve and his girlfriend came with no gift. Steve told us that he ordered it online off our registry (Fortuneoff). So weeks passed and we still never received a gift. So FI kept asking Steve about the gift and Steve kept saying that he bought it and it was even paid for. Fine, so now it is a month later and still no gift. So I contacted Fortuneoff’s customer service and gave them Steve’s full name and told them we never received his gift. They in return told me that Steve’s credit card was denied so the purchase never went through and that they emailed Steve numerous times to tell him. So FI told Steve a week ago the situation and Steve said he’d follow up. But still no gift has been purchased off the registry. I think is very rude of Steve. What should I do? Keep having FI bug him for the gift?

No, leave Steve alone. Silence is golden.
He knows what he did.

That is rude, especially for it to carry on for a month. If he was in a sticky situation it could of be explained a lot sooner. In my opinion I would just let it go. It isn't worth you getting stressed.

Oh, that's so rude! That is not right and so disrespectful. I think you guys should just ignore him for now. Did you guys ask him to be in the wedding party yet?

That kind of happened to myself and my FI. My FI friend said he was coming with his wife and they never showed up or sent us a card. We weren't asking for a gift, but a congratulations or something. He is suppose to be in our wedding party, but not anymore. Thank god my FI didn't ask him.

It's wrong and direspectful, especially since he is in the wedding party and thats an honor. He made a mistake.

But pressing the issue will just turn out with a messy outcome and you wouldn't want to have this added stress right now when this is supposed to be a happy time.

Just remember this when Steve gets married...

I don't think I would ask anyone were my gift was, even if they said they brought me one.

I would just leave it alone. My cousin did the same thing. She said she had bought me something off my registry. I know she's a liar and then her & her boyfriend had the nerve to not even show up for my wedding! . I checked the registry and everything that was purchased I had already received from others. She never bought anything. Some people!

I would just let it go he knows he got caught

Re: rude

I would stop asking him about it! Technically speaking, someone does not have to give a gift at an engagement party, although, most people do!

Wow, I would let it be, there's no need you have to go down to his level
