Rude Email from a Videographer!!!

We have been having a hard time finding a videographer that's within our budget ($2K). I emailed a vendor tonight after he sent me his starting prices of $4500 and I asked if there was anything he could do for $2K...this is what his email was:

If you compare our work (hopefully) you'll notice there's a big difference in what we offer our brides. If you don't see a difference then it doesn't really matter but we do provide not only a highly customized wedding film but also a really fun and unique experience (just as every wedding should be). We haven't created a production for $2K in over a decade. Honestly, I don't know anybody in the wedding film industry that can create something even approaching descent for $2K. Believe me I have a budget in my own personal life and work with different types of budgets every day. $2000 (In my opinion) will only provide you with someone who is brand new to the business, someone who creates very basic (cookie cutter) productions or someone who doesn't know what they're doing.

I can't believe how rude and disrespectful he was, I've had a ton of responses that have been, 'I'm sorry we can't do it for that price' but not this rant...ugh!!!

honestly how many times are you going to watch your video maybe 5 times. i wouldnt spend a fortune on it.
how much is your reg photographer for video?

I FMed everyone!! Just for the record, I sent him an email back calling him out on being rude and told him that I'm spreading the word about his rudeness and he emailed me back an apology...that sometimes people don't get his emails...BS to me!!!!

My photographer doesn't do video..I'm also extremely picky and critical when it comes to video because I work in the field and I notice all these ridiculous details that no one else would!

That is crazy for someone to send a potiential client. I wouldn't want to work with them even if I was going to pay that much

Unreal! I love how vendors act like 2K is no biggie. EVERYTHING for weddings are horribly overpriced. Everyone thinks they are the BEST OF THE BEST... and jack their prices to all be in the same realm. You can find video for less... great quality and a much nicer attitude. WHat a D-bag!

I am in the graphics industry and some people have NO right bragging about their skills whatsover. I have seen some real doozies with alot of talk and demands for cash and only OK skills.

Oh and one other thing that annoys me about the term 'cookie cutter' which I hear over and over and over. Obviously no one wants 'cookie cutter' but the reality is we all pay for a company based on their OWN 'cookie cutter' style. So although they act as if YOUR wedding is soooo custom... the truth is it is only unique to the company and not for their individual clients. Sooo.. ultimately they have templates and designs which are being used over and over within their company. It's not a bad thing... but these vendors who keep throwing the term around are using it out of context.

OMG I got a similar email when i tried to negotiate with a videographer for some money off. LOL. PLEASEEEE fm the video company i am dying to know if it is the same one. Mine was so offended he then wouldnt work with me! and for real i was only asking for a few hundred off at most not a few thousand!

Wow what an a**. Even if you could afford him I don't think you would want to use him, lol! What a jerk. I got my photographer and videographer for about $5000. So i guess mines gonna stink

They are booked for my date!! It's either all the LIW recommended vendors are booked for my date or above our budget. Right now we're deciding...I'm open to any other suggestions!
