RUMOR ABOUT PASSPORTS - THIS IS NOT BACKED UP BY ANYTHING - JUST A RUMOR
I heard that starting Jan 08 passports will be required on domestic flights also... not just international.
I can't find a news release to back this up but someone I know told me he heard this from a postal worker....
Again, I don't want to cause mass hysteria but if you happen to be at the post office - look into it! Especially for you girls going on domestic Honeymoons...

I heard the same thing. My mom said she heard it.
I was planning on getting one anyway.. but i am going to go soon before the rush of people if they do become mandatory.
I think it is supposed to be some kind of universal identification.

I haven't heard anything about that...but why not...the Gov't loves to take as much money as possible from us!!! I paid like $88 or something when I got mine a few years ago!!

Re: RUMOR ABOUT PASSPORTS - THIS IS NOT BACKED UP BY ANYTHING - JUST A RUMOR
Beginning January 23, 2007, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551, if applicable.
As early as January 1, 2008, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), may be required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. While recent legislative changes permit a later deadline, the Departments of State and Homeland Security are working to meet all requirements as soon as possible. Ample advance notice will be provided to enable the public to obtain passports or passport cards for land/sea entries.

you should all have one anyway, just in case you do something shady and need to flee the country.

that is terrible!
yeah, we always have current passports ( or try to) in my family. . . for that same reason, most of my family is overseas.
actually - my parents made a mistake and thought that a child's passport lasts as long as an adult's so for years i thought i had one but it was expired! luckily, i realized it before i had to use it.

and u know...its SO easy to get ur passport...i would just get one if u dont have already...i think it would be smart to be ur form of ID on any flight.
it may seem like a pain in the tushy...but once you have its good for a long time
