Re: Russo's on the Bay
I attended a wedding there in June. The food was really good, especially at the cocktail hour. For dinner there was about 8 entree choices. The service was excellent. Our waiter knew all of our drinks and our glasses were never empty. Good luck!!

Re: Russo's on the Bay
My cousin got married there last February. There was way too much food. The cocktail hour was filled with filet mignon, rack of lamb, a whole roasted pig, among alot of other things. With dinner we had app, salad, pasta, intermezzo, 9 entrees to pick from, then cake and full vienese hour. And at 1am nobody wants to eat anymore. But it was a nice place, the waiters were attentive, I always had a drink. Back then I wasn't engaged so I didn't pay as much attention to the details, but I can ask them anything if you have any questions.

Re: Russo's on the Bay
I was in that room for an engagement party (which was like a wedding anyway), and the couple came out of the wall, personally a little cheesy for my taste but cute. I think they had 150 people in the room and there was plenty of room. The food was incredible like everyone said and I couldn't believe the waitstaff, as soon as my drink was put down, another was there.

Re: Russo's on the Bay
i've been to a few weddings here (all in the large room - the entrance is cheesy but cute for those who've never seen it before)....the food is plentiful and very good...service is excellentsomeone told me they paid $225+ a plate here for a wedding last fall (they may have been stretching the truth)....personally, i think you could get a much more distinctive place for that kind of money (i.e gorgeous location, huge windows, scenic room, etc...)
BUT for less money it is a great choice!!

Re: Russo's on the Bay
I am getting married there in 5 weeks, so I will give my reviews after. I have been to a few weddings there and I found everything to be wonderful. I've really never heard anything bad about Russo's. There are a few things that I could see as being a drawback. It's located right smack in the middle of Cross Bay Blvd., the traffic is always terrible on the Belt Pkwy., the atmosphere is okay, but nothing really to brag about. It doesn't have beautiful gardens or anything like that. The view is of the water, but it is also of the backyards of people's houses that live right on that Marina. I would say if you are looking for a place that has great food, and you know the service will always be perfect you should go for it. Also, it is not 225+ a plate at least not when I booked it. I'm paying a little less than $200, and I am in the big room, full coctail hour, and full vienesse hour. I also didn't haggle w/ the price. Good luck, and sorry this is so long.

Re: Russo's on the Bay
I think it is the most convinent for my relatives and my inlaws.. They come from Jersey and Staten Island and my family comes from LI and Queens..The place is BEAUTIFUL in my opinion. I am getting married in DEC.. So I don't care what it looks like outside!
Good LUCK!

Re: Russo's on the Bay
My MOH was married there last March. They had the room where they came out of the floor.
The cocktail hour was sooo filled with food!
Heres what I didn't like (in my opinion):
1-There is a countdown clock on the wall. It counts down how much time is left in the reception
FH pointed it out to me, I thought that was very tacky!2-They served the wedding cake and before I turned around to eat it, they took it back!
3-The entrance is cheesey & when you go to the bathroom, there is so many people from other weddings all at once!
Otherwise its a beautiful place.

Re: Russo's on the Bay
I went to an affair last november and i have to say the service is exquiste, i always had a drink and someone there to ask me if i needed anything, i am not much into the hoopla of that place with the coming out of the floor thing and big chandeliers but if that fits your style the food and service were really great so i would say it is a good choice and even better with a discount
I know it can be pricey there. Welcome New Vendors
