I don't know if you all remember but a while ago I mentioned my cousin who had battling cancer for years and that she really wanted to make my wedding. She passed away on Saturday night . I have to give my pictures to the dj tonight and I'm not sure if I should use a picture of her in my montage because I don't know if it will make people happy that I'm remembering her or sad that she couldn't be there. I also want to know if you think I should have the priest mention something, or do you think it will be too sad for people?

Thanks, I really want to put the picture in and have the priest mention something because I was close to her I just don't want to upset anyone. Do you think I should ask some of my other cousins if they think it would be ok?

I dont know what I would do. Did you ask your family? Maybe they can tell you if its too soon or not?
altho I feel like no matter how sad it is you want to remember her and her pictures would be in there regardless right?

Re: Sad
I think if it were me I would have the priest honor her during the ceremony but not the DJ at the reception.

Re: Sad
you can have the priest mention her name at the point when they say 'we pray for.....'

So sorry for your loss.
I think it would be a beautiful tribute to her if you put her in your montage. You will remembering her and who she was now that she is gone. Remember the happy times.
As for the priest, are you doing a full mass? You could have them say something in the part where we they say we pray for....and everyone says 'Lord here our prayer'. I forgot what part of the mass that is called.
Either way, I think having a prayer said at the ceremony and including her in the montag would be a very nice idea.

Ohh I am so sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to you and your family.
I think you could include the picture in the montage. .I think people often are afraid to bring up things like that b/c they don't want to remind people of sadness but everyone will be so aware she is not there anyway.. not like they won't think about it if she is not included you know?
what we are doing with the pastor is saying
bride and groom would like to everyone to take a moment to think of all those who could not be with them today. . or something like that. . so it's general and not specific

I think I will ask them to make sure. Her picture was going to be in their either way. She did a lot for my throughout my life. She was 65 and when my dad was sick she did a lot for me and my sister and she was confirmation sponsor. So we shared so many nice times together.

First, I'm soooo sorry to hear of your loss!
I say use it. Mostly becuase you will be able to keep the montage so her memory will always be in there... and it's a sweet way of including her in the wedding. Although it's sad... and hard for people... I think you should keep it in. Just because she passed doesn't mean you need to erase her from things like that. I think looking back on it years from now... you will smile when you see her picture and be glad that she was in the video. It's a nice little way for her memory to live on. Does that make sense? I hope I don't sound harsh or mean. It's always hard to talk about this topic and I don't want to come across the wrong way.
I also think it's ok to have the priest mention her. Especially if you were close to her. If it were me... I might not want the priest to mention her... ONLY because while standing up at the alter, I invision myself fighting back my own tears from all the emotion of just being in that moment... and if that was mentioned... I might just lose it... and I don't want to be a blubbering mess when I'm trying to say my vows or exchanging rings or anything.

After reading this... I sooo think she should stay in the Montage! It's like the last thing you can do for her, to remember her for years to come.

That's a goo point about losing it during the mass. Hmmm I do have some time to think about that one. As for the picture I think I am going to do it.

I am terribly sorry for your loss.
I think that you should have the priest say something general, but definitely keep her in your montage. I lost my brother a couple years ago and still get teary-eyed when I think of it, so I think that you may lose it during the ceremony, especially since you will be so emotional during that day anyway. I agree that it will be a great way of including her in your wedding. People may get teary-eyed at the pictures, but its a fitting tribute and you will really appreciate it when you review the montage in years to come.

I am so sorry for your loss.
This is my mantra about the wedding.
DO WHAT YOU WANT!
If you think people might be sad you can have the priest say something like 'And we remember with love and laughter so and so who is no longer with us'
Basically make it about a happy memory. If YOU WANT it, you shoud do what you want.

I am so sorry for your loss. You should definitely do the montage and maybe in your programs you can add a little something like 'In loving memory to so and so who made us laugh and love' or whatever you feel about her.
