a prong on my ering broke and the jeweler will have it for the next two weeks. i feel so weird without my ring! a lady at work asked me where it was today - which was a little forward (she wasn't rude but i was surprised). so i told her, and she was like oh good, i was afraid you broke up, except that i saw you wearing the necklace he gave you. ughhh i don't want to be without it for 2 weeks

Re: sad
I know how you feel. My ring has a lot of pave and micro pave diamonds and I've lost a few diamonds so far. I was so upset the first time I noticed it, especially since it was 2 weeks before my E-Party.
Our jeweler has been wonderful and replaced all the diamonds for free. I've been annoyed each time, because it's upsetting. FH spent a lot of money on my ring, and I don't think diamonds should just fall out. She said that it's common for the style of my ring. It's happen three times and each time I was without my ring for at least 1 week. I guess the third time is the charm, because I've been lucky these past few months. They finally got it right and were able to secure and strengthen all of the prongs.

Awwww... I need to take mine to the jeweler. I've been postponing it because I don't know how long they will hold it for and I don't want to be without my ring. One day I forgot it at home when I was going to work(that's when I used to take it off) I turned the car around and went back home to get it.

That's what I was afraid was going to happen! Since the prong was bent, the one diamond (i have 4 center stones) was pushed up slightly. Ugh, I just want it back!

i know the feeling, luckily not so long each time. When I bring mine in for its inspection, I generally also need a new dipping and it has to stay cause the jeweler is so busy..... I can normally pick it up later that day or the next but still...

Two weeks??? That seems like a ridiculously long time for a jeweler to be working on an engagement ring. Usually they put a rush on those, especially if it is the same location you bought the ring from. That's so terrible for you. I'm sorry you have to be without it!

He didn't get it from a typical jeweler, but more of like a commercialized one. I had brought it to my family jeweler, and he had told me that he would've had to take all the diamonds (I have 4 smaller stones that make up the center) and remove the prongs to replace the whole thing (the prongs are like a box around the diamonds), so I do understand why it would take a while. But still! UGH!

Yeah, why so long? See if there's anyway it can be done sooner. I feel like getting my whole ring made took shorter time than that.

No! And that's what is driving me crazy! I'm really rough on my hands - I smack into things CONSTANTLY. BUT I have a ring that I wear everyday (and have for 4 years) and I've never broken a prong! So I'm not really sure

Trust me, I probably would have, but I didn't take it. FH brought it and they were giving him a hard time as it was, saying that they didn't see the problem. I'm like ARE YOU KIDDING?! It's probably a good thing that I wasn't there because I would've flipped! There was a decent size chunk that is either gone or bent under (I'm not sure which) and my one diamond was pushed up. How can you not see that?!

The only reason they ever need to keep mine is for the dipping. Otherwise the inspection happens right infront of me
