this was my friend that i've known since 6th grade.

FULTON, N.Y. -- A 22-year-old Long Island woman was killed in a car crash Wednesday in upstate New York, authorities said.

Melanie Ott, of West Babylon, was riding in a car driven by 29-year-old Jason Cicero in the 10:30 a.m. crash, according to the Schoharie County Sheriffs Office. She died at a hospital about an hour later.

Cicero and passenger Lewis Portello, 29, both of West Babylon, were taken to Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown with head and facial injuries, deputies said.

The car failed to round a turn and went off the edge of the road and into some trees in the town of Fulton, 40 miles southwest of Albany.

Officials said they do not know why the vehicle ran off the road, but excessive speed did not appear to be a factor.

i just found out that they were hit by a drunk driver and the fell of the edge of the road and into trees. i'll spare you guys the rest because i think it's disgusting, i dont think you'll really want to hear it.

she went through the windshield and her arm came off, and they can't even have a casket that's how bad she is. they have to cremate her. her funeral is on sunday.

I'm so sorry Chrissy. It must be so difficult for you to think about how she passed away.

Jennbaby, I never knew. I'm sorry for your loss as well.

My DH rides a Harley, and it scares the he11 out of me. I'm so afraid he will have an accident one day. But it's the love of his life (after me, of course), and I would never ask him to give it up. So I just pray...
