This happened to me as well...my BM was dragging her feet about getting her dress, and she finally dropped out entirely. I am sorry that it is two of your BM's that did this. When it happened to me, I just had to put myself in my BM's position and realize that she had her reasons (hers being financial), and move on with my happy planning. HTH

I am sorry to hear this also. I had 2 BM's drop out also. Not at the same time and not for the same reason but it hurts I know all too well. You still have time to ask other people if you'd like to or leave your BP as it is now! The 2 that dropped out of my BP has cost us our friendships which has been very hard for me. I hope that this doesn't happen to you!

sorry to hear your news.....I totally understand how you feel -- my cousin is from OOT and she is dropping out of our BP too, for financial reasons.....and it was hard for me cause we are so close. I really wanted her to be included in our day as much as possible. she still will be there on our day but it won't be the same, you know?

sorry that happened!! don't worry everything will work out--better for them to drop out that way you don't have any negative energy or vibes on your big day! also, don't feel pressured to add in 2 more if you dont want to...it will be perfect just hte way it is

Re: sad news last night...
Thank you ladies sooo much ~ the reason for the both of them was financial.... and one sister called and told me on behalf of the other also and said she would call me when she got a chance...
I asked them a year and half in advance... they could have put away $20.00 away every 2 weeks and they would have been fine! + my BM dresses was the cheapest I have ever seen @ $145.00. (I have been in several bridal party's and I have not paid that kind of price for a BM dress)
well for someone who is finacially strapped (and just coming to my wedding will be a financial drain: is what I was told) she is coming to NYC from NC for st pattys day weekend and staying in NYC...
I am blessed & happy to have the 7 bridesmaids that i still have that will be there for me and apart of our special day...

I wasonce bumped up to MOH, because the original girl couldn't afford all of the financial extras that come with that title. My FH dropped out of a wedding that is being held on 2/24 in Vail Colorado--it would have cost him our entire wedding budget to be a part of his law school buddy's wedding party. His friend totally understood. I wouldn't take it personally.

Re: sad news last night...
i understand if it was a 'real financial' drain then i would understand ~ I have had my share of financial situations that i probably should have declined also in the past ~ but i figured it out.... and if i had to not buy a pair of jeans or a pocketbook one month so i could do it I would...
my cousin (the one who called and dropped out) when she got married everyone was invited on short notice... i purchased a plane ticket for me and my date... i got a massive ear infection the week before and was out of work and was not aloud to get on the plane ~ so i ate my tickets because they were non refundable... and drove and paid for all expenses ~ plus the over night stay 1/2 way...then i got there the day of her bridal shower & bachelorette party (paid for all the expenses to go with this as well) as well as a wedding gift... it just seems that I feel i always bend over backwards for everyone and the one time i have something special going on the ones you think would be there are not going to be...
plus the fact she actually told me 'just coming to my wedding' will be a financial drain....
I am blessed that i still have 7 bridesmaids whom i love and are so happy to be apart of my life & will be apart of our special time! I am just venting to get it all out ~ don't think i am not being understanding because i totally am! I also think there is something behind all this (I currently don't speak to my biological mom due to an alcohol illness and I testified in a court date December 2006 as a witness for my sister in law... because my mother was drunk while visiting with my neice ~ the cousins that backed out are from my biological mother side....(my parents are divorced) since all this has happened i have spoken less to my aunt (who i used to always talk or email at least once a week) anyhooo thank you all for listening to me vent!

Re: sad news last night...
It sounds like you are better off without them! It's too bad that not everyone can be responsible about putting money aside (and that's an amazing price for BM dresses!) and planning ahead. I'm sure your remaining BMs will be fabulous and that you won't even miss these two!!
