This post is so sad..

I actually have two...

The day my six month old nephew died. He was born with birth defects that would have ultimately lead to his death but when he beat the odds and made it to six months, I got very comfortable of the idea of him being with us forever...not to be. He would have been 12 this year

I was involved in a fatal accident when I was 18 where my car was hit from behind and I hit a fourteen year old boy on a bike who crossed against the light. He died at the scene. I can't even tell you how the memories of that night haunt me every day.

Oh Sharon I am just so sorry ... what horribly tragic stories

I am about to cry here.. hugs to all of you who lost a parent, sibling or close friend

For me it was losing my grandmother .. we were extremely close, and she was kind of the glue that held our family together.. and it really hasn't been the same since she is gone..

I don't even know what'll I'll do when the day come I lose one of my parents.. I can cry just thinking about it

I'm sorry, but I know what you mean about the glue holding the family together. That is how my grandmother was. Sadly, when my brother died, a part of my grandmother died, he was her baby. She fell during his wake and from then on she went downhill. She was an upbeat bitty and after his death her health deteriorated and soon after she passed. But she was the glue. My family really fell apart after she died. Every one of her children moved to a different state,. Now I barely even see them after seeing them every weekend when grandma was alive!! That is my biggest fear in life, losing one of my own parents!!!

Re: saddest thing that ever happned to you

When my Aunt suddenly passed away because of a misdiagnosis. She was one of those truely good people. She was an 8th grade spanish teacher and her favorite kids were always the ones in trouble, the ones who had it rough...

She overcame several abusive relationships (physically, and mentally) and was my saviour at family events (the only positive voice in a room full of negativity).

I still remember my mom coming in my room (I had been sleeping) and waking me up and telling me she had died. I didn't believe her, i just said, 'When?' 'Just now' 'Okay' and went to lay back down. Then it hit me, I layed down in my mom's bed (my step-father had run to the hosipal) and just cried...

Okay, sorry, I'm rambling, it happened nearly 6 years ago and I sometimes still can't believe she's gone...
