SAD....need pick me up ideas

I can't seem to shake my blues. I am more sad now after seeing FH, then I was over the past month. I still have a month until he comes home!

Find something you love to do and get involved in it......even reading helps, find a good book. Do you have any hobbies? Anything that will help you keep your mind off missing him...

Yes, you need to keep busy. Can you take some crafting class or something?

Re: SAD....need pick me up ideas

OMG Jenny, I'm going through the SAME thing.

I'm not living with DH yet, and we are about 64 miles apart, which isn't too far, but when you take his schedule with the NYPD into consideration, we get very little time together at all. If I see him once a week, I'm lucky.

I found that after the honeymoon I felt such a sense of disappointment and letdown. All the happiness and excitement of the wedding and honeymoon felt like it was ripped out from under me. I was back in the same place, doing the same thing as I was before the wedding, as if it never happened.

I was okay at first but lately I've really had trouble staying positive and feeling as happy as I was when we first got back from the HM (and he stayed with me for several days).

It's not as if my life revolves around him, but I just want to start our lives together already. Reading all the posts about the newlyweds and their experiences is hard, too, since I haven't experienced anything related to newlywed life yet, and I've been married over a month!

I totally understand and sympathize. I'm trying to stay busy with my hobbies, and trying to distract myself by making up planters of flowers that I can bring to our home when it's ready, and starting to clean out closets getting ready to pack. It's still very hard, though.

Hang in there. It's only temporary. That's what I keep telling myself!

I love crafts, but there are only so much I can do, and can't start my wedding stuff yet. I guess because we had so much fun together, it made it harder coming home alone again.

(watched wedding stories this morning and cried)

How about your friends? They aren't very good pick-me-uppers???

It's still hard when I go home (or rather to his parents home) even his mom keeps bringing it up. Just not the same as being with him

I too am going through the same thing...i only see my FH on weekends since he still lives in NYC and i am in syracuse It is even harder since I am here alone and my family and friends are also in LI and NYC...what i do is basically plan for the time he is here or i am there. From the moment he leaves i am trying to get everything done so when he comes or i go home we can just enjoy each other! So when he leaves i drop him off at the airport, call a friend and start cleaning my apartment, then the next day i will do laundry etc. etc. ...i also spend a lot of time on LIWEDDINGS
Don't worry...a month will fly by!

Jenny just remember that it's only temporary, and you will be together very soon.

Sometimes when I feel blue it helps to get out and about more, take long walks, and exercise. Also be careful about how you are eating and sleeping, treat yourself well. Maybe write things down too.

you definitley need some hobbies. maybe some crafty, or some cooking classes, or maybe join a book club. i don't know where you live, but maybe the local college has some fun summer classes you can take. maybe try something you always wanted to, but could never find the time to.

to you!!

I am sorry for all that you are going through! Stay positive with thoughts of how happy you will be when he does come home! When I miss my fh or I am sad, I perk myself up with the memory of him proposing! Keep your mind occupied with happy thoughts and know he will be home in no time!
