Sage's Log

Ok, here goes....

Breakfast:

WW 2 pt. smoothie - 2pts.
Cinn. Raisin Bagel toasted w/ nothing on it - 5pts.

7 pt. breakfast -

I am feeling bad b/c I thought a bagel was 3 pts. and then my friend told me NYC bagels are a whole other story....that in her meeting the woman said the WW bagel pts. was based on a 'lenders' type bagel (like the size of an english muffin!!!!!!!!!!)

Drink lots and lots of water. It cleans out your system and helps flush out fats. Drink as much as you can. Eventually your body will start to crave it when you don't drink.

Re: Sage's Log

So you missed counted on one bagel, make up for it later by skipping the coca cola etc, remember one thing should not throw your whole plan out of wack. Do you workout now, do you do any kind of toning?? Good luck with your quest

Re: Sage's Log

Looks like you have a good goal going! Yes, I LOVE bagels, regular bagels are like 6 points! Not good, especially if you'r like me and load on the cream cheese!

Good luck!

I am on my 2nd bottle of water (16 oz. each) so i am ok with that!

I LOVE TO DRINK WATER....at least I have that going for me~

Re: Sage's Log

Sage, I had a bagel too, with fat free cc, I am counting it as 8 pts, b/c I think even fat free cc has calories (I figure 6 pts for bagel and 2 for cc)..

I am still full from it.

Re: Sage's Log

2 1/2 years ago I decided to quit drinking soda and start drinking more water. I used to hate drinking water....
But wouldn't ya know the more I drank it, the more I craved it....
Now, I can't live w/o at least 8 glasses a day and haven't had soda in like 2 years.....

(exception - I have a glass of soda to soothe a hangover.... )

Re: Sage's Log

I put my goals!! they are the 2nd post b/c I forgot it in the first....
Sorry for the delay in updates - I posted a few on the WW thread....

I regret to say that I gained 2 oz. on the day of my weigh-in....but the WW lady joked that if I went and pee'd and came back I would prob. be even!! haha!!

Anyway Shamma - I have been trying, but I must say - my addiction with food is a hard one to break!

I only need to lose about 10-15lbs., but they are the hardest to lose!

How's the water intake this morning?

Re: Sage's Log

Sage that is when you need to take your w/o, if you are working out to another level. Do.try different things. How often do you eat?? Your body has hit a plateau and is comfortable. THose are usually the hardest pounds to lose. You asked something about water..err aamm...um, I will get on it right away. 20z is nothing, remember water retention. Do you watch your body by the # on the scale of how you look and feel??? b/c I can be 170 pounds and look fantastic and I could be 125 and look crappy. I determine my weight loss by inches and how I feel and how my clothes is fitting. A scale is such a bad measurement.

Re: Sage's Log

Shamma - I agree with you completely....to be honest, I don't even own a scale...so that is not the problem. It's just that all my old clothes are tight or don't even fit anymore, and when I was 22 I could get away with eating whatever I wanted and not exercising and stay a size 2 and now my metabolism has a different agenda.
Everything I eat goes straight to where it shouldn't and I can't get my A** into a gym!!!!
I just don't like working out.

I love classical ballet dancing, but to take classes is expensive!

What do you suggest?

Re: Sage's Log

Sage, don't you know the clock called aging works against us. I remember my summer internship, my mgmr at the time said she remembered her days of being 21 when all she ate just disappeared now all she eats goes straight to her hips. Our metabolism changes with time, and we have to rev up our w/o or make our bodies work for us. Eating smaller meal during the day get us revved up. Missing meals slows the body's metabolism down. People sabotage themselves a lot thinking skipping meals help. Your body slows down. Eating more throughout the day keeps our engine burning.

Weight lifting revs up the metabolism as well. A lot of women are afraid of it, but even when we sleep our muscles are working for us, burning fat. Muscles weigh more so when you start toning up you might find your numbers going up instead of coming down, that can be depressing/upsetting to some, but remember you will be looking more svelete tho. I weigh 174.5 lbs and most people do not know this, why, b/c I am very toned, my muscle vs my fat composition is very high.

The suggestions I have are, walking, swimming. Do you not have a gym close to you?? Are there no tapes out there that you like, taebo, dancing to the oldies, there are so many choices that we have no reason not to workout. At times I get in a slump but I think of all the benefits, you look good and you feel even better. There are so many perks to working out.

Re: Sage's Log

Shamma - what an inspiration you are....thanks!! I needed that swift kick!
Yes, I have pilates tapes that I do - (actually, just started doing) but I like them alot....
I am really going to try and start eating more small meals soI can keep my body burning all this extra fat!
That is my problem....you might look at me and say 'She doesn't need to lose weight - she's crazy' BUT in actuality my whole body is soft.
I need to tone up and lose about 10lbs...

AHHHH!!!!

Re: Sage's Log

Do not put a number on yourself, and watch, once you start toning up you are not even going to care about the numbers anymore. I am more comfortable with my body now at a higher weight than when I was 'softer and at a lower weight...go figure. Do you do any cardio?? Do you do any weight lifting??? They all go hand in hand
