Re: Salary....

Flowerfields was sooooooooooooooooo expensive, but its great because it includes all the extra things you would upgrade at any other place. We are going tot hink about it, maybe if we do an off season and a friday night, it will get cheaper! But, yes, it was gorgeous!

Me...45,000 for my teachers salary(private school
...and and extra 15-20,000 for my aba home hours a year
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WOW!!! I have to say they REALLY need to increase teachers salary!!! All the hard work you guys do!!! And a four year college plus ain expensive masters. I always thought Teachers started at least in the 60's

You have to take into consideration that this is for a private school.

Yes my pay is lower due to it being a private school...but it is actually more then most. I make up the difference by doing ABA home hours after work so I actually am in the $60,000's and I work about 45 hours a week. So I can't complain too much. And my school lets me buy whatever I want and pays for it...and I think many public schools only give you a couple hundred for supplies if im not mistaken.

It really depends... I'm fortunate enough to be in a really good nyc public school that does the same in terms of buying supplies whenever you need them. Lots of teachers are a lot less lucky though.

I think its kind of mean to say that the person who posted this shouldn't have.

First: in the original post didn't it state 'IF YOU DON'T MIND ANSWERING' Therefore if you don't feel comfortable talking about money then you shouldn't have answered it.

Second: Aren't we the 09 board that boasts about tolerance and being able to post whatever we want on a public forum????

JMO

good point...but I specifically chose not to answer this thread because I could predict the outcome....when it comes to money, politics, religion...etc....its very hard for debates to remain civil because these things are so personal.

I absolutely agree with you. When I saw this post I knew that is going to start trouble. Certain things you do not discuss. If the person who started this post feels they need a new a job or is not making a enough money there is other ways to determine if your salary is the average for your profession.

I started this thread as an anyonomus poll, and only asked ppl to reply to it if they felt OK with it.
I in no way wanted to start a debate!!
I was having a personal crisis on what the average salary was for someone my age, and what I should be demanding in my upcoming raise.
Im sorry this offended so many, but I was not a part of the back and forth argument.
I'll remember not to post anything controversial in the future... although, I didnt think this would blow up the way it did.
Thanks UK, I appreciate the support ~!!
