My answer is no, but I have many friends around my age (35) who have had some sort of same sex encounter being a kiss or whatever (I don't go for details)

I have a few that have kissed girls, but I'm certain that it was just to get attention from guys...

I never have but I agree with the trendy thing. One my BMs, my cousin, claimed to be 'Bi' for awhile... she went to an all girls catholic school and she definitely experimented. I don't know how much more than kissing though. She's also younger than me... turning 21 next year.
