I was wondering...is it any good to go to a sample sale...say Kleinfield's??? So confused...

Sample dresses usually come in sizes 4-8. They are dresses that are from showrooms and that people try on in stores. Some may have slight stains or damage but it is minimal.
The great thing is that you can get a very expensive dress for 50%-75% off. I also found out that for the sample sale they are having this Tuesday, you can get an additional 25% off if you are a member of the knot. I am going because the dress I am in love with costs $6600.
The dresses are all cash and carry, meaning you pay upfront and usually take the dress with you. You can come back separately for alterations or take the dress elsewhere.

a close friend bought hers at the wedding salon in manhassat. She got it for almost 75% off. I saw it in personm and it was just perfect! They will handle dry cleaning for her.

sizes 4-8?? i tried on over 30 dresses in my search for 'the one' and every single dress with the exception of davids bridal was a size 10!! i wish i knew what stores carried 4-8 so i could see what i actually looked like in a dress that fit!

This is what I have been told about sample sales. Several of my friends and cousins have shopped at them.
I have had the same experience as you when trying on dresses. I hope I can find something in my size since this is buying off the rack.

They will handle all the cleaning of the dress. They are marked down alot 50% or more. So it is a great deal!!! Most of the dresses I have tried on are size 10. So if your a smaller size you will need to do alterations.

try Klienfields...i was there on Tuesday it was fantastic...Also if you go before Sunday Henry & Michelle Roth were there and they gave a discount on dresses....Good Luck

Girls don't be insane! Why pay so much and have to settle for a gown you are not 100% satisfied with. Try www.jgcouture.com. They made my friends gown just how she wanted it and she looked so damn beautiful that i decided to get mine made through them too. Just got it yesterday and I'm soooo thrilled. They customize gowns, so i had my VW replica through them and it is IDENTICAL to the original and cost me only $960! No alterations or bussling needed!!! You should definately check them out if you want a couture-quality gown at a low price!

I got mine at kleinfelds, and i had to bring it home it was 2,000 less though, and they will steam etc... I just having a problem with storage afraid of what to do with it, i went to a cleaners who perserves dresses and they boxed it for me. Other than that I LOVE my dress and didnt care that it was off the rack.

I know Paula Varsalona and Birnbaum & (can't remember the other partner's name) just had sample sales. They may still be going on. If you want the skinny on them, subscribe to topbutton dot com and dailycandy dot com. They list a lot of NYC sales and bridal sample sales.
