Sand Castle & Venting!!

Sand Castle & Venting!!

I went to make a payment at my hall, Sand Castle, and out of curiousity I asked them if they have pitchers of soda & water on the table and was told NO! it's not there policy. Early on I had asked them if they serve bottled beer and they had said yes, now they're telling me it is bottled beer, but they serve it in glasses. I know this is minor stuff, but it still upsets me. My FH's family is older & I can't see them constantly getting up for water or soda or my friends getting little glasses of beer. We are paying for the Millenium package (450 on the guest list), so I am not trying to scrimp with them, but I feel like they are trying to scrimp with me. Can anyone let me know if they have attended a wedding there recently and how the service was, especially the drink service?

Sorry I babbled!!

We booked our wedding there and we are getting red and white wine on the table...Who have you been dealing with? We have been dealing with Stravoula and she has been great...really heplful. There are one to two attendents per table and your guests should be satisfied...they will be served. If this really bothers you talk to her and see if maybe you can come up with a compromise...
I hope it all works out...let me know how it goes...

Re: Sand Castle & Venting!!

I had my wedding there in October and I heard no complaints at all about the service. If anything, everything I heard was all good. Nobody complained about the drinks. To be honest with you, I've never been to a wedding where there was a pitcher of soda on the table -- the waiters and waitresses are really quick to come clear off the tables and not to have too much 'clutter' on it.

Like Licia, I dealt with Stavroula and she was more then willing to help. And the day of the wedding, you don't have to do a blessed thing, the bridal attendants are constantly by your side! You will not regret having your wedding there!! If you have any questions, let me know!

I have never seen soda on a table before either but if you feel that your older guests need the assistance just ask them to please do it for those tables. Most places serve beer in bottles as well.
I am sure they will help you with your request.

Thank you all very much. It makes me feel better to know that the service is really good. I also am dealing with Stavroula, so I will talk with her again, but as long as I know that you were happy - it reassures me. Maybe it's just 'countdown stress'

THANKS AGAIN!

Re: Sand Castle & Venting!!

Oh Kathy, believe me, do I remember 'countdown stress'!!! I was in your shoes a year ago at this time -- I can't believe it will be a year already!! I know it's hard, but try to relax and like you've heard and read here a million times, everything will turn out okay. Every time my DH said that to me, I wanted to scream and hit him, but he was right! I had several breakdowns along the way and I even hyperventilated the week of and ON THE ALTAR saying my vows, but after that, it was all cake and I had the BEST time at my reception!! I was up dancing (when I wasn't saying hello to everyone)!! The only thing I will tell you is MAKE SURE YOU EAT!!! We didn't really eat anything at our reception and I was upset about that and my husband was p***** off because he didn't get to eat anything from the viennese hour (we were doing the receiving line)!! And don't I hear it everytime we watch the video!! LOL

I did make sure to eat the chocolate covered strawberries before I got in the limo!!!

Another thing you'll love about the Sand Castle -- your pictures outside and even inside, will come out AWESOME!!!! Our big portrait is one of the shots from outside and between the color of the sky and the columns, it looks like we're in Italy or something! All my pictures came out great in there!

You're very welcome!! You really will NOT REGRET your choice!!! And all your guests will have nothing but good things to say, from the food to the service to the place itself!!! I really wish I could re-do my day, it went by so fast!!! Like I said before, any time you have a question, feel free to email me!!!

the reason why no pitchers on tables is a good thing. a fine establishment should have cocktail waitresses on top of the tables. no one should hav to get up or drink from a pitcher of flat soda. bottles at a wedding reception...its not a bar. it should be poured in a glass out of the bottle. no draft beer. these are all classy ways of doing things right. im sure thats why. i hope i helped u

Re: Sand Castle & Venting!!

I am afraid to post but I am going to away. IMO (and remember that is MO ), the service when I went to my best friend's wedding last Feb. (which I was in the BP) was not that good. I had to ask 4 people for a drink (and it was only a soda). Why should I have to ask 4 people for the same thing? It took them so long to bring people drinks that most people got up and went to the bar to get their own (including the groom). Remember that was the first wedding I had ever been to at the Sand Castle and also this post was IMO.

Re: Sand Castle & Venting!!

It might be the policy of the hall to not serve beer in the bottles. I know Fh and I stressed that we did not want this at our wedding reception , ( beer to be in glasses at all times) and the hall we choose did not put beer bottles in the guests hands. I see no reason why they cannot put a few pitchers on tables for the elderly guests. Good luck.
