Sand Castle vs Florial Terrace?

Original post by BellaRegina

I know they are both owned by the same person, so i would assume the menu and a lot of stuff would be the same. But can anyone tell me the differences between the two halls? I've seen Sand Castle and loved it, should i take a ride to go see Florial Terrace?

By customize, do you mean the menu? I loved the menu and there really wasn't anything i would change about it.
What did you like more about FT? The menu, the look? I really dont like that they dont have an outdoor area.

With our amount of people, the price really isnt all that bad....thank god lol

Thanks!

it wasnt that i didnt like the menu... but i only wanted 2 courses, i did a lemon intermezzo instead of a 2nd course... i wanted more time on the dance floor... and that was not an option at SC... and the guy we met with came off as snotty to us... he was very rude...

The guy at FT was really really nice... i loved the decor there too... having an outside didnt matter to me...

ETA: I had a guest list of 366 so price was very important for me...

I like the lemon intermettzo idea, but i think i would rather the salad.

The girl we met with at SC was amazing! So nice and really helpful, so i'm glad we didnt have the same person as you.

Price is important to us too, we're paying for it (no handouts), but for everything the SC if offereing, the price is pretty good. Our guest lists look like its going tobe around 250-300...but nothing is final yet, so it could be biggier. They way they showed us prices, the more guests, the lower the per person price, which was nice.

What do you mean dance floor time? How did they shorten that?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to check all my options. Dancing is important for us too.

Salad was our first course and then the intermezzo then dinner

Every hall offers lower prices the more people you have... in my contract with the Coral House i had 2 prices one for 300 people and 1 for 250 people... we ended up at 252 people...

i actually didnt want a 2nd course at all... my BA talked me into the lemon intermezzo and it wasnt announced.... i didnt want to stop dancing to eat a course i didnt want and i didnt want anyone else to either lol

Re: Sand Castle vs Florial Terrace?

Ive seen about 5 or 6 places and SC was the only place that staggered the per person price depending on how many people you had (which i liked).
I know my family and food is #1, SC has the appetizer, then pasta, then salad (or intermetzzo) and then main....which i like a lot. I know its a lot of courses, but if you wanna eat you will, and if you dont you can go on the dance floor. I'm only prob gonna have the DJ/Band, stop for the app and main course.
Alot of decisions to make!!! Thanks for the input!

True. I'm going to need to discuss this with the BM next time i go, because i want to have plenty of time for people to dance and have fun....in addition to eating a TON of food!

I just booked with Floral Terrace, Dana my BM has been very attentive and helpful so far. I hear that SC is more pp idk how true that is but we are only having about 140 people so we didn't even go over there cause there minimum is higher too. The ballroom is to die for, id go check it out

We got married at SC--food was really important to us, but so was dancing. Believe me, people both danced AND ate! Because it's a 6 hour reception, I thought it was actually a good way to break it up. People danced 'through' the food, but they were also able to eat a ton. For us, it was the best of both worlds.

We also really liked that there was one menu (when we booked. Now I believe there are two?). Everywhere else we looked seemed to nickel and dime us--if you want to add this, you have to pay more etc. We liked that everything at SC was included so we didn't have to think about it or worry about anything any more.

If you have any SC questions feel free to ask! We took the Greek HM in July (as part of our actual HM), and it's definitely HOT there but there's air conditioning.

YAY! You totally cleared my mind, i was worried that people would be interupted while dancing to go back to eat. I agree with you 100% that SC might be a little more expensive that other places (but really not by much since tax and tip is included intheir price), but they throw in EVERYTHING!!!! The only 'extra' is the marinti bar! When i went to see them they only had one menu, so i guess the website is wrong (i saw the two options, but we were only shown one...we would have picked the more expensive anyway lol).
Were going to a showcase there onthe 29th, if we love it....were booking it.

I do wanna see CLM first....but thats the only thing hold me back lol

I was also very partial to the SC but its def. a personal decision. you should take a look at both.

I liked SC better plus if you were willing to spend the extra money, the package deal was better valued.
