Sandals La Toc- St Lucia

After a ton of disappointing research into Bora Bora and Tahiti, we have opted for St. Lucia. I know many people stay at Sandals Grand St. Lucia but it is sold out for the week we are planning. I have never stayed in a Sandals but have heard mixed reviews about them. Our travel agent suggests ONLY the sandals in ST. Lucia and we have looked into Sandals La Toc. Anyone been there or have booked there before? Anyone know good excursions? We would be getting butler service with a Oceanfront Sunset Bluff room with a private plunge pool. I know Bora Bora and ST. Lucia are two TOTALLY different vacays but I am just looking for some honest advice. Thank you!

Sandals La Toc- St Lucia

My travel agent told us that the sand isn't 'pure' white (she compared the sand in Antigua to sugar) and that the water isn't 'crystal clear'. I wanted to go to La Toc so badly but when FH heard these 2 things he didn't want to go there. I've read a ton of reviews from couples who have gone to St. Lucia and they all seem to say it's beautiful but then I started reading reviews about Antigua and those were equally amazing. Consider looking into Antigua also.

Sandals La Toc- St Lucia

FH and I stayed at sandals la toc for our one year anniversary of dating (can you say setting the bar way too high?). It's beautiful, but we found the grande to be much nicer. The beach was nicer there and the water was calmer. We stayed in a basic room and it was impossible to get a bed with a canopy, but you won't have that problem with a butler. I wrote a review on trip advisor and I have tons of pics on my computer that I will send you when I get home from work.

Overall, we loved it. The food was great and grounds are beautiful. You can travel between all three sandals St Lucia resorts for free with their shuttle busses so we spent a day at the grande to check out their snorkeling and restaurants and that was like an excursion in and of itself. We also went horseback riding the first time we went to St Lucia on a cruise, it was through a banana plantation and it was incredible. I'll dig up the name for you when I get home.

I've heard great things about sandals Antigua too! That's what we're considering for our honeymoon if Hawaii doesn't work out.
