sandals st. lucia

Original post by MikeandJess

We're looking to go here for our honeymoon, I know a few of you have booked there. Which resort did/are you stay(ing) at and why? Did you go through a travel agent or did you go through the website, or neither? TIA!

ok another question..sorry, but we are looking at the lagoon swim-up room, does this mean people can swim up to my hotel room

I actually just wrote about that! Basically from what I've heard it's a smaller pool that runs along the side of the building and you can walk out your door and go into it. However, for most of them they are attached to eachother and not private, so you will see other people in it too. I've heard mixed reviews from the Newlyweds and we decided the regular pool is good enough for us

thanks! I'll have to check out the reviews too, I don't want people swimming up to my room, that's kind of creepy

We are staying at the sandals- Regency Hotel. I work someone that was born and raised in St. Lucia and I have also asked around and I get a lot of good reviews. We went with Cathy of Cruise One, if you want the number FM me and I will give it to you. The website is www.sandels.com and it is all inclusive you can also tour the our hotels and you can eat there as well. We are going in May. I am SO excited.

i went to the grande, my review is on the HM board

i really really stress that you go to the grande. . . we had a really nice time there

FM if you have specific questions. We flew into UVF and the drive there was about 2 hours, in pretty horrid conditions BUT the ride back was about 90 minutes in awesome conditions so it just depends you know?

We got the Oceanfront Concierge room and we loved it! We had a special checkin/checkout and they take you on a hike AND you book everything THROUGH them - they take care of it all. I felt special in a lounge instead of a front desk LOL we also had room service which is a MUST bc you get a beautiful balcony and they set the breakfast up out there!

also do a couple's massage AND a candlelit dinner on the beach - those were our favorite parts!

I am staying at the Grande. There is a huge sale going on right now. Cheaper than the previous sale they just had.

I don't think the better sale applies to the Grande (or St. Lucia) -- I just checked the website.

The 2 free rooms are for other resorts, and so are the 1 free room deals. Our room for our dates is the same price as when we booked in Dec.

Plus, we're staying 7 nights and can't stay any longer so I guess we wouldn't be able to take advantage of it anyway.....

The other thing that stinks is American Airlines only flies on certain days (Sun/Mon/Thu). And not many direct flights per day either.

We are doing the 10:15AM --> 2:50PM direct flight from JFK to get there. Not tooooooo early in the morning but enough to give us time to get there in time to enjoy dinner and part of our first day

we r staying at halcyon its the smallest and cheapest resort we got a great deal and then we can just shuttle to the other resorts to use their stuff....we wanted to stay at grande originally but we figured why spend the extra $$ when we can just go there and use thir stuff

Wow this is an awesome thread I was thinking of going here. I had a question, when it says all inclusive does that include alcohol too? Thanks!

I was looking for someone who was going around the same season as me, I was nervous about hurricane season, did travel tom say anything about that?

we went in august.. it did rain a little bit but nothing to ruin our vacation. The first day we were there it downpoured when we went to eat, it lasted about 10 min and then stopped

I agree with Tilde about the Grande being wonderful.

We also had the private candlelit dinner in a gazebo overlooking the beach ... our Travel Agent gave that to us for FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was phenomenal, we loved it! We had it on our last night there, it was the perfect way to end our trip.
