We're looking to go here for our honeymoon, I know a few of you have booked there. Which resort did/are you stay(ing) at and why? Did you go through a travel agent or did you go through the website, or neither? TIA!

We stayed at the Grande St. Lucian (the newest of the 3 resorts, i think it used to be a Hyatt).
We booked through Travel Solutions by Marcia.

We're staying at the Halcyon and we're getting an ocean view room We're going to be there from March 10th and flying home March 17th.
We chose the Halcyon for the ocean view and also you can go to all three resorts so it really doen't matter too much where we stay-plus it was a gift from FH's parents - we went through FH's Godmother who is a travel agent to book the flight and all.

My sister stayed at the Grande St. Lucian for her HM in 2005 - she said it was gorgeous. loved it.
We are going to Sandals Jamaica, but booked right through the Sandals website. I think they guarantee the lowest price if you go directly through them

Actually FH and I got it less expensive than what they were quoting us though the site... not sure if we got his godmother's travel agent discount though.

We're going to the Grande St. Lucian. We booked through Sandals website when they were having a promotion. Penthouse Oceanfront Concierge room :) We're flying into the larger airport because we wanted a direct flight and im scared of tiny planes.

I went to Sandals Regency in ST. Lucia a few years ago, it was amazing!!! I used Liberty Travel because I had a lot of questions and this was much easier.

When are you leaving? That is the one we are leaning towards staying at so we'd probably be there around the same time

We're going to the Sandals Regency. Our room is the Romeo and Juliet Penthouse Sunset Oceanview One Bedroom Luxury Suite. We are flying into the bigger airport. I do not want to be stuck in an airport with a delayed layover on our HM and I dont like flights that arent nonstop anyway, so we went for the direct flight.

jen- I didn't want to quote you because you said not to but did you book the flight reservations through a different service? Or was it still thru the sandals website

What is the name of the bigger airport? I'd rather fly there too

Re: sandals st. lucia
We booked directly through the Sandals website. It's possible we could have saved more using a travel agent, but they were having their big sale and it 'supposedly' ended the next day (I found about it on here at the last minute and didnt want to risk it in case prices went up in 08) so we just booked that night. We got our flights through Travelocity
Edit: we also had a more complicated situation since we're flying FROM new york but flying back to a different city (with no direct flights offered). That was why we had called the travel agent, but she didn't want to look at any flights for us.
Travelocity had the flights we needed so it worked out well, although we had to pay upfront for the flights.

Re: sandals st. lucia
we booked an oceanfront concierge room. Concierge is the lowest level room that includes room service and an in-room bar + the concierge which is supposed to help you book excursions and paperwork.
oceanfront and pool view were appx the same price and we both preferred oceanview, although we didnt feel strongly either way. it turned out to be a few dollars cheaper.
we thought about one of the swim up pools but i read some reviews about them being dirty since they are shared with other couples and people have sex in them so we decided not to go for that.

I actually just wrote about that! Basically from what I've heard it's a smaller pool that runs along the side of the building and you can walk out your door and go into it. However, for most of them they are attached to eachother and not private, so you will see other people in it too. I've heard mixed reviews from the Newlyweds and we decided the regular pool is good enough for us
