Re: Sandy has diarrhea HELP
White rice will help to bind the stool. Don't try to stop the diarrhea with any medications!

Why not?
You can give a dog Pepto ...
I do agree on the rice though

Because if they have diarrhea their body is trying to get rid of something! Let it come out!!! Just firm it up with rice. You have to be careful with those medications for diarrhea... they could end up working so well that they constipate you! (well, this has happened to me, not the dog)

boiled chicken and white rice. The rice can also bind them so not TOO much. My vet also recommended pepto but only once a day. Good luck!

I also agree, this is what the vet told us to give Loki if he gets the runs.
also the boiled chicken is good, and if you have it boiled chop meat is also supposed to be OK.

Re: Sandy has diarrhea HELP
Our vet always suggest boiled chicken (no fat)and white rice...for three days no treats either. I have gone through this too many times!

Re: Sandy has diarrhea HELP
Don't give Pepto (vets recommended this years ago), but they don't anymore because it has asprin in it, which is not so great for your dog (I don't know why...but it's not for some reason). I think you CAN give baby asprin if a dog is painful (i'm not talking about diarrhea, just another instance, but it's not something that you want to give your dog unless it is def. painful)
