Re: Satellite Radio
We have XM radio and it's prett good. We have the unit for the car - it was a cinch to install and the subscription is $10 per month. DH really loves it - I like no commercials and there's a good variety of stations but I don't like all the wires in the car.

XM radio is soooo worth it.
Once you go satellite... you never listen to FM again.

Re: Satellite Radio
The equipment is about 100-150 not including adapters... the service Sirus and XM are between 9-15 a month.
Do any of you know how easy it would be for my DH to take it out of his car and connect it to his job site radio?

I am getting it for DH for this exact reason....he is steamed that there are no more county stations in NY
I saw a Delphi removable for $150 in Best Buy, but that was not including installation or the 'home' port radio....just the car radio. I also saw XM for $9.99 per month

I got the offer through my Scion dealership...maybe that's why it was cheaper.

Re: Satellite Radio
XM is $10 a month... Sirius is $13 a month.
XM is definitely the better choice. Sirius is very repetitive (like FM).

Re: Satellite Radio
Is one better than the other (like Skifi or the other systems) better than the other. What does PORTABLE mean? I looked on the xm site and 2 can be used in a home or car and one is home car and portable... any explaination?

Re: Satellite Radio
You can get the XM Roady 2 that you can use either at home or in the car. You just have to get a home kit (its like a cradle) to use it at home... and the car kit to use in the car. Its pretty simple.
If you are worried about installation in the car... just get the Roady2 with the car kit at a place like Circiut City and have them install it for you.
The home kit is simple to install into any stereo.

Re: Satellite Radio
I want him to be able to use it in his van his truck or on the job site... would the Roady be able to do that or should I get the Ski-fi?
I also have $80 in Best Buy bucks so I want to get it all done there.

Sooo true! FH and I have them in both of our cars. I only listen to WALK for the traffic report and then it's XM all the way to and from work. I love the Broadway channel, The Heart and the '80's channel!

Re: Satellite Radio
You would need an antenna installed in both vehicles to move the receiver/radio part around. DH is not techy and he installed ours very easily.
