Save the Date Question

Save the Date Question

My date is November 9 - when should I send them? Also, is it inappropriate to put something on the Save the Date card that says sort of like - Hey, if you have another engagement on this day that you've already committed to, let us know in advance? Can you think of any way to do that?

Save the Date Question

I went the cheap route and made up a one page flyer on my computer. I used some free clip art and I thought it came out really cute. I know a lot of other people decide to make up custom magnets or more formal announcements. It had info on the date, location, transportation options & hotels.

I can't think of a way to ask people if they're coming -- but I do know that, from the Save the Dates, I've already gotten word from a few people that they won't be able to make it. Other than that -- generally people, especially people you're not especially close to, decide whether they want to come or not closer to the actual time since last minute things come up. If you force an anwer now, it would probably be really inaccurate anyway...

If you'd like me to email you a copy of my STD I'd be happy to (I can send it as a attachment - it's a word document). My email is [email protected]

Another idea

Try www.cardstock.com
You can get a postcard STD card or a regular card-type and they will even address, mail and stamp them for you. The postcard is around $1.00 each. SonicStef did these and I did them for my e-party invites. Service is amazing! Just put the date, ceremony time, and hotel room block information. Make sure to add 'Formal invitation to follow' at the bottom. You cannot really ask people to tell you if they can come prior to a formal invite. But some people will call you to tell you anyway.
