Save the Date Question

when do you girls think that i should plan on sending out Save the Dates for our Dec 5, 08 wedding? we don't even have a real wedding list yet but im assuming i need that because i have to send everyone a STD right? even people who don't know who i am? like my dad's cousin that i never met?

I am sending mine at the 9 month mark, which is in 2 weeks. and I am pretty much sending to everyone b/c we had a high # that we had to guarentee so we are hoping for a lot of yes's

i was going to do mine around the nine or eight month mark as well

I just sent mine out a couple of weeks ago. I sent to everyone on my list.

ok good, i guess i'll plan on doing them in feb - i was hoping that i wouldnt have to do them sooner than that! i think im going to DIY.....maybe the magnet ones with our picture......i LOVE those......

Is it okay to send them out around the year mark? Or should I wait? Im kinda getting tired of looking at them....

I sent mine out really early b/c we heard a lot of people had other weddings around the same time...so we just decided to send them out. We still have some to send out but we got the majority out

i sent mine out a year in advance b/c our date is the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend. I didnt want them to go out too late knowing people might be making plans to go away since it is a holiday weekend.

I think you still have plenty of time..i just got mine, and don't plan on sending them out until at least next month or november

I think I'll send out mine at the 8 month mark. The only thing I am worried about it peeople forgetting if we send it so far in advance.

I dont really understand sending them unless you are around a holiday or have lots of OOT guests....but i have heard 9-12 months before for a holiday and 6-9 for non holiday

Feb should be fine for you- by then you will know the style you like and have a good idea of a guest list - that should be more than plenty of time anywhere from 8-12 months I think is good .I knew someone who sent hers out 2 years prior (she probably was so excited- I personally would have been too nervous to).

You could always send them out in your Christmas/Holiday cards

Ha! Ha!.... I'm in the same boat. I had to send STD cards to people that didn't even know me. A matter of fact, I got one back saying that they appreciated that I sent them one but it must be a mistake bc they didn't know who I was! I had to have my mom call her and tell her it wasn't a mistake and who I was! Can't wait to be introduced to these people at my wedding!

Anyways, I sent mine out in May and I'm getting married in 8 months (May). I don't know the exact time you're supposed to send them out but we are getting married during a holiday weekend and wanted to get the STD cards out a year in advance (to prevent people from booking vacations for the following Memorial Day Weekend). HTH
