Save the Date Question

We are getting married on Memorial Day weekend in 2013. I was told that you are suppose to send the STD's like 6-8 months before the wedding. I feel like since we are getting married on a holiday weekend, we should send them out sooner. Any suggestions/opinions?

I was planning to send my STDs 11-10 months before the wedding. The more time the better. I have a lot of people traveling from out of town, so I want to give them the chance to plan ahead.

Yeah I would send yours 11-12 months before since it's a holiday weekend! I am May too and I was going to send mine out in June/July 2012 b/c of communions, graduations and OOTers.

I'm getting married Columbus Day weekend and sending out our Save the Dates this summer. I just figured since it was a holiday weekend it would be a good idea to send them out early.

I would say 8-10 months prior. We are getting married Thanksgiving weekend and I just ordered mine.

This. We're actually giving our STDs out at our e-party in a few months, then send the rest out a month or so after that.

We're getting married labor day weekend and we just sent ours out last weekend. The people who know and love us most already know about the date and if they don't, then it's probably not imperative that they are there, haha.

this!! our's is the day after thanksgiving and i sent them out 1 week before this year's holiday.

I think between 8 and 10 months before your date is good

I totally think this too but i get freaked out that some people will forget.

I'm getting married the same weekend. I'm planning on giving out my STDs at the engagement party which will be this May. And for those who don't come to the engagemenr party I will be mailing them end of May/ beginning of June.
