Okay, I feel like I don't know anything (except for my wedding date as of yesterday!).
It looks like most people send out STD's. I was just wondering how far in advance you send them.
Also, can anyone recommend a good place to go for these?
And what about the people you are not sure you are inviting??

Only send them to people you are SURE you're inviting. Once you send someone a STD you can't not invite them to the wedding. As for where to get them you can make them yourself or order them online or from a store, depending on what you want. Lots of girls have posted theirs, so do a search and see what you like. Send them out about 6 months before the wedding, unless it's on a holiday weekend, then send them out 9-12 months ahead.

i made my own stds. trying to cut corners everywher possible. Ive herad to send them a year before
we sent ours out about two weeks ago for an october wedding....we included a magnet with a cardboard back (teh magent was like an insert into the card) and a sepearet card with hotel info on it. We ordered them from invitationconsultants.com They had a lot of diff styles to choose from, we decided on a calendar magnet. Def only send to ppl who will def be invited!

I'm sending mine out a year before the wedding and i got my save the dates from agiftfulheart.com. They came out really great and Kathy who works there was a pleasure to deal with. I definitely reccomend them. Also, I'm only sending them out to those people I'm positive I'm inviting. I'll do a second batch a few months down the line when I decide on the 'maybe's' on my list.

I sent mine yesterday for a mid-November wedding. I also used magnetstreet.com, which I would highly recommend. Easy to work with and came fast.
