thats a really great idea...fh and i have to get a joint account...10 years being together and the wedding is a perfect reason for it
We do the same... we each deposit a set amount every month into our joint account. We have put all our bonuses, taxes returns, parent contributions and gifts in the account as well since we got engaged in December. So far so good!! We have all of our 6 month out payments due coming up in September... I'm nervous to see the number dwindling after seeing it grow for so many months!!!

we both have direct deposit so we have $ taken out of our checking every pay day and put straight into our joint savings. It is taken away before I even see it so I don't miss it at all. e party $ also def helped...it paid for our photography!
We try and put as much as we can. We feel the budget squeeze every day it gets closer to the wedding!
We have a certain amount each month that we use for the wedding. As soon as we have that amount we send checks out and dont wait for the due date. We want to get everything payed off before the wedding.

i put X amount in savings every week. even if we don't have a lot of extra. we are so focused on this money.we don't have credit cards, so Everything has to be paid for before the wedding. it's a little daunting.But so far knock on wood, were doing it. YEAH ME!!!!
We do something very similar.. we are also in the process of buying a house so I end up putting more away monthly for the wedding and FH has been paying more towards the house, but we basically are doing the same thing to save - contribute to joint account monthly, any gifts or extra money we come across.. our engagement party is this coming Saturday so any gifts we get from that will go right into the joint wedding account too.

We're doing the same thing. We took our salaries a did the math, leaving only a TINY bit extra for fun each month. FH picks up a lot of overtime which is so great of him!

It sounds like we are all doing the same things. FH and I have our household budget and a certain amount that we need to put away each month for the wedding.
So stressful sometimes I wished we opted for a longer engagement. I basically just stopped shopping (so hard) and now weekends typically consists of ordering chinese and watching net flix lol. Also, no birthday presents for each other and no Christmas gifts this year (except for our nephews, I don't want to be to much of a Grinch)
