Today is the say I say, 'goodbye' to one of my best friends. Over the weekend, my best friend (a bridesmaid) was involved in a car accident and didn't survive. Her husband was driving. They were coming back from a job out in Greenport early in the morning (he does extra side work mixing music and moving music stuff around like speakers -kind of like a roadie -in a way). Both of them had a great night (they haven't been out together in a long time) and they were on their way home to meet the babysitter. Thankfully, she had been sleeping. From what I heard, he dozed off quickly, and they hit a car on the side of the LIE. When he woke, after the crash, he tried to wake her but she wouldn't wake up. They just had their first baby together in March after many trials and tribulations. I'm still in shock.
At the wedding in 3 weeks, I was thinking of maybe having a small table with a few pictures of her, with her bouquet, and maybe a bridesmaid sash. I might have the groomsman who was supposed to walk with her, carry her bouquet too.
I plan to wear the necklace I bought her for the DOJ.
Maybe some of you ladies have ideas in which I can help remember her.

oh my goodness...this sent chills up my spine and brought tears to my eyes. I'm so very sorry. This is so devastating and tragic. I will keep her husband and baby in my thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss. I heard about this accident, so horrible. I like the idea of a table with a bridesmaid bouquet and some pictures of her.

I'm so sorry for your loss. That is truly devastating. I like your ideas, maybe add a special moment of silence for her during your ceremony or at the start of your reception during the toasts. Maybe you could speak to her husband about borrowing a piece of her jewelry to wear or use as a bouquet charm.

OMG how sad! I am so sorry for your loss. What you mentioned I think would be a great way to honor her memory at your wedding. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all her loved ones, especially her husband and new baby.

SO sorry for your loss…i can't imagine how difficult this must be for you. i think all your ideas are good…maybe you can get a locket pin and put a picture of her in it and pin it to your bouquet wrap. You can also dedicate a song to her.
