I don't know if this happen to the rest of you, but every time I ask for prices or info wedding related and they ask when is it, people start to ignore me (as if my wedding is so far that I'm not worth the trouble yet) or they said like 'oh it's in such a long time you don't have to worry for this or that...'
yeah i know what you mean ... I hate even more when people ask why are you waiting that long .!!!!! I want to say mind your ******* business!!!!!!

What kind of people are saying that ,like vender's? All RH are very nice thats why I am not going to go to any small vender's until 08 like flowers and favors and what not

from vendors to photography to DJ.... to people in general.... people are so rude sometimes

this has definitely happened to me and since i havent booked anything yet, well you have to get going on that you know! YES I KNOW!!! We're just trying to save some money DO YOU MIND?!?!?

I've definitely had that happen to me several times. Bottom line is, you dont owe anyone an explanation as to why your wedding is 09. And its definitely not too early to do any wedding related stuff. Dont let it get to you....even though it can be frustrated

My advice as far as RHs being rude to you is to stay away from those vendors. Every reception hall that I spoke to was more than happy to help me and answer any questions I had. I wouldnt feel comfortable going with anyone who was rude or nasty to me about when my day was. Tell them to kiss it!

Ugh, i have been hearing that for 8 months!! But now that its almost a year and a half away people have stopped saying that!!! FINALLY!!!

I haven't really heard it. Everyone understands that weddings are so expensive these days, and since FH and I are paying for it they realize why. It's your day and don't let anyone get you down.

Ive heard it from vendors and I refused to use them becuase they were rude! I have also heard it form other family memebers and other getting married and my response to them is 'I'm having my wedding after your so I can learn from your mistakes!!!' I told a girl on the BHB boards the same thing! People can be so nasty.....and sometime syou have to fight fire with fire!

i have yet to experience that problem... most people are like 'oh thats so smart' ... but lemme tell ya... if someone comes at me with that crap.... PSHHHHH i will not let it go unnoticed!

People need to realize that planning a wedding is not an overnight process. I know for me I don't want any bills after the wedding. You want to make sure that every aspect of the wedding is taken care of. Also, the RH's should know this from being in the wedding business for so long. It should be a problem for them to book advance for prospective couples.

ive had that from some vendors but the rh's have all been great. some vendors make it seem like your wedding is 10 years away on the way they react to it.

I was so happy the other day when my wedding date became less than 2 years away. It is annoying and I've started telling friends and family, 'you ant to pay for my wedding?'. Usually shuts them right up.
I've only booked my RH so far so I haven't heard it that much but when I've gone to those bridal shows it was embarrassing to say 2009.

I haven't got it from RH but from some vendors and family and friends..... Its so annoying!!!! But it feels so much better to know that I can share it with you girls

When family says that I turn around and ask them if they are gonna pay for it and that quickly shuts them up!!
With vendors, I did earlier this year, but not anymore. I've met with 2 DJ's so far and they havent said anything!
Oh my god it is so frustrating, especially for me because when I say January of 09 people think the end of 09 when it's only the second day into 09. I have to always remind people, that it's only a year and 5 months away. It stinks explaining each time. I even told the 08 girls sorry that I'm always crashing because I really can't plan much in 09 so really need to get the ball rolling, but I'm still a true 09er.

I have been hearing it from people and on top of it 'Oh, Chris YOU are going to wait that long?' They tell me to take out aloan, I'm not getting any younger, the kids factor as well. As far as vendors I have had some nice, some like we didn't do prices for 09 yet but, I'm only trying to find out cause, like I have said before, we may have to do it in 2010, gee do peoples heads turn but, $$$$$$!!!!!

That has happened to me too many times. not from photgraphers, or the RH but, my friends and coworkers and even the DJ company are like 2000000099999, like they have never heard of it. it is so annoying
