Here's another question for you lovely ladies. I notice that there seems to be a trend that after you get married, you get a newly wed chop. Do u plan on doing this and what are your honest opinions about it? No hard feelings!

NOOOOO! No chop for me!
I always thought it was the girls who have a baby that always seem to chop it all off right after or right before.

Re: Scissor happy anyone?
well i had extremely long hair up until 2005 when i decided to cut off 10 inches. i have loved my nice semi long length hair. its so much easier to deal with. i am going to be growing my hair out for the wedding so by time after the wedding comes i will also be getting the newly wed chop.

A lot of brides will purposely grow their hair out for the wedding and then after the wedding get it cut pretty short. Some donate it to charity, but I've heard some other reasons for doing it as well.

no, not allowed. FH doesn't like short hair. plus short hair makes me look even younger. i'll probably just trim of more than usual. have been growing it out for the wedding.

Re: Scissor happy anyone?
I will not being doing the newly wed chop. I think short hair looks sexy on some women but I don't have the head for it..lol. I cut my hair on impulse not too long ago and FH nearly had a stroke. I'm growing it out now and only plan to get my regular trims.
I think it's nice when people get it cut to donate to charity but i never heard of the newly wed chop until I came on LIW, and it almost seemed like a passage into newlywed-ism (i just created a new word..lol)

Re: Scissor happy anyone?
I am getting the newlywed chop. When i graduated high school i had hair down to almost my belly button and cut it ALL off (seriously the my hair was about 4 inches long in front and 1 1/2 inches in the back, its was all short and spikey and looked awesome on me.) I met FH when i had super short hair and decided to let it grow out a bit bc of how i needed my hair for stage....Now i am trying to grow it out for the wedding so i have more options as to day of hair style...but once the wedding is over, bye bye hair!!

Re: Scissor happy anyone?
i will, only because my hair looks better shorter than long (even though FH likes it long)... but i will have to grow it out for my wedding so i will not be able to cut it for a while!

Re: Scissor happy anyone?
I usually grow out my hair for 1.5 - 2 years and then chop it nice and short. It's SO much easier to manager when its shorter and I enjoy donating it to charity. So, after the wedding it's probably getting chopped off.

Re: Scissor happy anyone?
I just cut my hair into a bob. I donated it to locks of love. My plan is only to trim between now and the wedding, and after the wedding, I'll chop some off, but not too short.

I am so chopping off my hair. I can't stand it right now and its at my shoulders. I need it to be shorter but letting it grow for the wedding.

Yes and I can't wait!!!! I usually have my hair around shoulder length and i have it longer now, i will be getting trimmed soon and then i will leave it alone until the wedding. After the wedding its getting chopped off, i can't stand having long hair

Re: Scissor happy anyone?
well my hair is WAY short now (thanks to rachel ray!!!) so now its a grow marathon until the wedding. but i always so back and forth. long then short.. im indecisive.. so i will probably cut it after the honeymoon... depends on how long it will grow in a year and a half!!!
