Scotto brothers brides... which photographer are you using?
If I don't start booking my vendors soon, I am afraid nobody is going to be available the day of our wedding. I feel as though I don't know where to start. All I have so far is the place (Fox Hollow) and our priest (we also need a rabbi). Does anyone have any suggestions on which photographer offers the most for your money as well as taking great pictures? I would like to visit maybe 3 photographers to start, and hope to be able to make a decision from 3, although I know it may wind up being more. Also, any suggestions on dj's, videographers, florists, etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not a Scotto bride but I just wanted to tell you that 'house' vendors give kick backs to the catering halls. This is a common practice and my site does the same thing.

I am a Scotto bride too, Watermill.I did not end up with any of the caterers vendors.
I chose Patkin Photographers in Lindenhurst.
We saw lots of photographers and liked Dougs work the best. 2nd place went to Paul Marino and third to Park Ave.
I found almost all my vendors through the brides here!
Good luck!

Re: Scotto brothers brides... which photographer are you using?
I was a Scotto bride and I used just about all recommended vendors.Sherwood Triart for pictures
Spitz and Peck for flowers
Franklin Wayne for music!
They were a bit more expensive then if you shopped around, but I felt comfortable with them because I knew they knew the Westbury Manor - this is a personal choice. We feel in love with the Band and the flowers, well, they gave us the best price for what we wanted - but I didn't go searching all around. So I know I could have done better!
Good Luck!

Re: Scotto brothers brides... which photographer are you using?
I am getting married at the Fox Hollow also and am using all recommended vendors. We looked at about 3 of each and choose:Pedstals for flowers
Arcadia from L.I. paramount for Band
Cassarino Studios for video and photo
I need to book a ceremony musician and will probably use who Fox Hollow recommends. If you use their vendors for everything they give you a gift certificate for a free dinner at any if their restaurants, you can use it on your 1 year anniversary.

I'm not a scotto bride but I agree w/Steph about house vendors. I'm using the house florist because I had heard great things about them & their price was so fair(Milleridge Florist). All of my other vendors came by recommendation, from friends or the boards. I checked prices after I checked references, first find the quality you expect then compare the prices of those vendors. Good Luck(my profile lists all of my vendors)

Re: Scotto brothers brides... which photographer are you using?
There is definetly a kickback and i found the recommended vendors to be too pricey.I am using VIP ohtography in Port Jeff who is by far the best prices i saw
I am using Get in Tune Productions for DJ, alot cheaper than some of the recommended DJs and a great guy to work with.
Still looking for Florist but supposedly Burtons is the cheapest out there, I didnt find that to be so but definetly worth checking out.
I am still looking for Video but I am meeting with Bellarino productions next week, they are resonable but i have to check out the quality to let you know for sure.
Hope this helps.

Re: Scotto brothers brides... which photographer are you using?
So true about house vendors. My FH worked for many years in a banquet hall on LI-first as a waiter, eventually as a banquet manager. He had quite a lot to say about the behind-the-scenes things that go on. Hey, when it comes down to it, I don't care who is in bed with who-as long as they provide service that we are happy with! That said, we met with a bunch of photographers-both recommended by Scotto and recommended by friends/boards. We finally decided to go with Cassarino.
Good luck with whomever you choose! I found photo studio shopping to be the toughest/most stressful part of our planning (so far).

Re: Scotto brothers brides... which photographer are you using?
Hi Mishy! I am getting married the day after you and also having the reception at the Fox Hollow! (Oddly enough, I too, am in need of a rabbi, but I understand my church will assist me....!)Also like you, I have only the place, date and groom and have been looking for everything else. I have gone to about 6 or 7 photographers - 2 of them were Scotto house vendors. As most of the others have said on this thread, I heard from so many sources during my search that the house vendors are the ones paying kickbacks. Regardless, I am trying to base my decision solely on the quality of the work (as best as I am able to judge) and by recommendations from other brides. I really liked Proline, but I just heard too many bad things about them from previous brides (junior photographer, blurry pics, made the MOH cry!?). I heard great things about Cassarino and Sherwood. I will go with whichever I feel most confortable with and the package I like best - whether or not they are a house vendor.....!
Good luck and let us know how it goes!!

I am a scotto bride also (Chatea Briand)We are not using any house recommended vendors although we did visit a few.
Photography was the hardest find and we eventually went with Wedding Group One. They gave us the best deal for the dollar and the pictures were fantastic. We took our engagament shoot in Manhattan and I couldn't be happier with the photos.

I'm a Westbury Manor bride on 8/31/02. We are using Pedestals, North Island Photography (www.niphotoinc.com), Code Bleu. Only Pedestals are recommended. They recommended a few florists and pedestals was priced somewhere in the middle. I'm sure they'lldo a nice job, and i don't have to worry about it, so that's worth it-Welcome New Vendors
