SCRAPBOOK STORE IN WANTAGH

Original post by Suzanne

I went last night, and it was a cute little store, but there wasnt much. I think she is just getting it going. It was of course more expensive than micheals or target, like for instance I bought an album 12X12 post bound at target for 14.00 and she had it for 18.25. The stickers were priced ok, a little more expensive than micheals. But they were VERY nice, I explained to her that I did not know how to do brads beads and eyelets and she told me to come back any other day this week when her sister is in and she will teach me free of charge.. I am very EXCITED about that. cause i want to buy this 1200 piece embellishment kit on QVC.

Over all, its a great place if you live close and need something, and they have all sorts of classes and crop nights. I will definatly go back there. I didnt expect the store to be as cheap as micheals, since its just a mom and pop store, and since its so close to me its a great place to go when your in a pinch.

I want to check out scrapbook alley. Maybe ill do that this weekend.

Re: SCRAPBOOK STORE IN WANTAGH

Well, I do have a Crop in Style bag!! Its GREAT!! I holds so much stuff!! When I didnt use it to cart stuff around, it was my storage bin for my 12x12 paper!

I have a website that I was a little reluctant to give to you girls....I do not want to add to your addiction!!!
Its a company called Club Scrap. You sign up for 6 month membership (thats what it used to be) and each month you get a 'pizza' box full of paper, embellishments, rubber stamp, stamp pad, and lots of other stuff all having to do with one theme! Its the BEST paper. So beautiful and the other stuff that you get is just a bonus. I love it because its a great way to use other tools and mediums that would cost you a fortune to buy!!

Here is the link....Club Scrap

There is also a great YAHOO MB jsut for Club Scrap people. I am a member but do not get the daily emails because its a really busy group and I havent renewed my subscription so I can not join in on the fun!!

The last thing I want to mention is swaps! I love swaps. I have joined so many over the past couple of years. Some of the stuff that I got was fabulous and some of the stuff was crap! its a great way to build up your collection of stickers, or punchies, or paper!!

As soon as my Scrap room is complete I will post pics and also have you girls over for some crop time!!

Re: SCRAPBOOK STORE IN WANTAGH

I have heard of Club Scrap but I haven't joined yet. Get this, I was afraid of getting too much stuff I won't use...hahahahahahaa (I am not sure if I would like all the paper that comes with and I dont stamp - yet

Lisa, I'll check out the link you just posted.

A really great site is
www.lifetimemoments.com It has a store, message board and gallery.

The store has some great things and is expanding just about daily. You are charged ACTUAL shipping charges! Free shipping for orders over $50 (except paper orders - you get a $5 credit) The owners are fairly active on the message board and are very repsonsive to any questions and often take special requests for items to be included in the store.

These are truly some of the nicest people I have ever come across on a message board. The biggest example being a fundraising benefit that was started for one of the members that has cancer which required eye surgery with extensive therapy and now probably surgery on her other eye. One of her friends asked the admins of the board if they could have this benefit. It would run for three weeks and people would offer different hand made items for sale and then others would purchase them and all the proceeds went to this woman and her family to help with expenses not covered by insurance. In three weeks time over $7,700 was raised!! She has enough to pay for most of her medical expenses and set up small trust funds for her children's future. I literally get chills thinking about it.

And Lisa, they have a swap board! I did a couple of embellishment swaps and got some cool stuff. And I signed up for a holiday card swap - my first hand made one but I figure it would be an easy way to start.

Re: SCRAPBOOK STORE IN WANTAGH

Thanks Lisa, you're the best

Now I'll just have to go back to the club scrap site

At lifetimemoments I am Chris. I hang out a lot in the Scrappers who aren't kidding forum. Did you post your intro yet?

It is such a positive place it's amazing. The owners allow no flaming. I believe there's zero tolerence. Also, you can't post links to other stores and sites that sell scrapping stuff since they are also a store - they ask that out of respect but you can PM people info if you find something great.

I was just looking at club scrap again:)

Did you find you used a lot of the paper? Do you think it's a good value?
Lisa Rose Posted:

Re: SCRAPBOOK STORE IN WANTAGH

I used most of the paper. There were a few kits that I got paper that I would never use but I would swap them away for stuff I would use!!
