Seamstress

I am thinking about having the dress I want made, since I can not find it anywhere. Can anyone suggest a seamstress in Suffolk, Nassau, or even Queens. I am in Suffold, but would travel for the right person. Also, if you have had your dress made, or know of anyone who has, please let me know how the experience was.

Karen, I tried to get to the web site, and the address is coming up no good. Is the address posted still good? I would love to see some of her work. Do you think that you are saving anything getting your dress made? How long is the lead time having it made as opposed to ordering? Thanks Liz

Sorry - I didn't spell it correctly. It is www.yngvesdotter.com There are only a few dresses on her website but she can make anything you like. I went to her originally thinking I would need a seamstress for a dress I was going to buy online. After meeting with her I decided to have her make it. I couldn't find any dress that I loved and the dress online was the closest one I could find. With Karin making it I could get exactly what I want. I actually was able to save some money since most of the dresses I was looking at ran anywhere from $1900-$2600 without alterations. My dress will be under that price. However, my dress is pretty simple, not much beading. Depending on the type of dress you want the price could be high. Give her a call. It won't hurt to have a meeting with her.
