how much are people paying for alterations. I got my dress at Davids and have heard horror stories from there so looking for a different seamstress. I only need a hem and bustle placed. but have no idea whats a normal cost range.

I don;t know if it's close to you, but there's a place in Deer Park called Alterations Unlimited by Gina who does great work...maybe you could get an estimate over the phone. I've seen the David's Bridal horror stories too and I wouldn't bring it there IMO. I heard they are overpriced and poor quality.

A friend of mine just got married at the end of May and she got her dress at David's. They messed up the alterations so terribly she had to get a whole new dress one month before her wedding. I would have died.
Alterations by Gina in deer park is awesome! She's a little pricey, but worth it! When it's as important as your wedding dress, you don't want to take a chance. Her work is quality!

OMG! You guys! I have an appointment at Davids Bridal on July 20 for alterations, now you are making me second guess myself!!! Yikes---Maybe I will give Gina a call tomorrow!

I saw this post, and I have an appointment to get alterations at davids on July 12. I am so nervous now lol I may be making a call to Gina this week!

She is AMAZING! She works out of her home in Farmingdale. It's worth the trek if it's far. I traveled from Long Beach for her. She is literally a DREAM! I also hired her to help me and my BM's get dressed the day of, and THANK GOD I did.. cause I got grease on my dress from the car or something and she got it right out. She is a godsend.

Another LIW girl used her off my rec and loves her too. Tell her Brooke sent you if you use her! You will not be disappointed!
