How does getting your dress altered work. I have an appointment on Monday at 1. But how does it work? Do you put the dress on and show them what you want to get done? Do you have to pay or put a deposit down up front? Im clueless.

are you going to the store where you purchased your dress?
my store doesn't do alterations, so I just found my own seamstress (recommended by my dress shop). Basically, I put the dress on at her house, she pinned up the hem, and pinned up a bustle, and that was it. She asked me if there was anything else I wanted, so I had her sew in cups to the bust, that was it though. She told me she'd call me when it was ready, and I left a 50 percent deposit...and I'm picking it up tomorrow and paying the rest of the balance. Hope that helped, don't know if you're in a similar situation though.
