seamstress recommendations - HELP!!!

Hi ladies,

I am desperately trying to keep costs down for my BMs so I'm looking to order their dresses online. However, I have no clue where to go for alterations. I know a lot of people recommend Phyllis but she wasn't willing to match the online price like she has for some girls and she said if I didn't order from her my alterations couldn't be capped. So I need someone else.

Can you make recommendations for truly skilled seamstresses in Nassua or Suffolk (my girls are in both) and please give me an idea of how much you were charged for alterations?

Thanks!!!!

How about Phylis at Bridal Elegance? She's in deer park and I know she does alterations for people who didn't order her dress. Give her a try.

No can do. I called Phyllis and she had no interest in matching the dress price. When I asked about alterations she made it sounds like they were going to be pricey b/c i didn't order from her. She didn't give me a specific figure to work with though.

Filomena's Dressmaking in Coram did my bridal gown and a BM dress for me. I was happy with both.
