I just finished the guest list for our engagement party. We are inviting about 135 people. Do you think I should assign tables for people to sit at? We are having it at a firehouse, so it isnt anything formal. So confused (as usual)!!!!!

Re: Seating at E-party....
we did seating at our e-party, we had it at a restaurant... are you doing a sit down dinner or a buffet??
Does everyone invited know each other, or not really? We once went to a wedding that was seat yourself, and as a couple who didnt know many people, it was SUPER awkard and we did not like it...

I don't think it's necessary to do assigned seating for your e-party. But I would suggest reserving 2 tables for your and FH's immediate families.

It is going to be buffet. Not everyone knows eachother, our parents are the only ones who know eachother. Aunts Uncles and cousins and all them have never met eachother. The majority of the list is family too.
Me and FH are only inviting a couple of friends...gotta love having HUGE families

i was in the same boat....we didnt do assigned seating this way poeple could sit where they were comfortable ...nothing worse than being stuck at a table without knowing anyone and having nothing in common with the people

Re: Seating at E-party....
hmmm... i think i would do seating since not everyone knows eachother... if i was part of a big family and got there late, and my family was all already seated at a table, and there was no room for me, i would feel uncomfortable sitting elsewhere (or upset that i got stuck with the family members that drove me nuts!)... but since it is buffet, people can move around easily enough... i think there are valid arguements both ways... just go with your gut!

Re: Seating at E-party....
We had a buffet for about 90-100 people and did not have a seating arrangement
