Re: Seating Chart
I have everyone's name in excel. To the left of their name, I have how I know them (work, school, family friend...) and I sorted based on how I know them. I am putting all co-workers together, all classmates together...
So I would suggest breaking your guests up into subcategories and sorting by category.

Re: Seating Chart
as the rsvp's come in I've been putting people at tables. It really wasn't THAT bad, besides both sets of parents changing a few things around and even that wasn't terrible

Re: Seating Chart
This was most definately a pain. We used a big corkboard and make a tag for each guest which worked out ok for the intial decision making. We also scanned in a picture of the floor plan and used that for the rest of the small changes. Hope that helps!

i though it was cute & cheap!!!

Re: Seating Chart
I am going to sound a lil OCD But I am really going to try and do something like Monica did on Friends. Where she had a big chart with the tables and pins for each person

Re: Seating Chart
I'm using the seating chart on here. Everyday when we get RSVPs I just add them in. I started moving people into certain tables already, but once we get the rest in, it should be easy.

Re: Seating Chart
I am planning on doing this:
Taking a piece of white poster board and drawing a grid of how many tables I need in total. So for example I have 24 boxes drawn for my 24 tables. I then am going to write each guest's name on a post-it flag. I can just stick the guests' post-its on the corresponding box and move them around easily if I have to!

Re: Seating Chart
I tired to do it myself and got all stressed out trying to make everyone happy, so i got home one day and me and dh sat at the kithcen table woth some pen and paper and we had it done in 20 minutes
try not to do it yourself , and remember you cant make everyone happy, and not every table is going to have the same amount of people, we had tables of 8,9 and 10. We also had 1 table of 7

Re: Seating Chart
It's not so hard, I just put people into groups of 10 that felt like obvious matches, then finagled a person here or there once we determined which size tables would be in which parts of the room.
