Seating chart question

It's nice to hear I'm not the only one in this boat. After giving it a few days, I understand where my Mother is coming from and I'll probably ask for her feedback, but I definitely plan to do a rough draft alone and then she can fine tune it... see, I'm good at compromising!

Seating chart question

The seating chart is already stressful, letting your mom do the whole thing would be even mor stressful! I let my mom look over it before it was final so she could see where everyone would be.

Seating chart question

The seating chart conversation came up a few days ago. I'm going over to their house today to discuss finances, payments and finalizing their guest list. My parents are paying for much of the venue, and picking up parts of some of the details as well. I completely understand them wanting input, actually I wish I could close my eyes and have someone else plan the entire thing! FH wanted to take care of the entire wedding ourselves until he realized how expensive our dream wedding could be without some help. The first guest list argument between FH and I happened for the engagement party when he invited his father's cousins but didn't want to invite my parents really close friends (no parents cousins), people that I grew up calling aunt and uncle and seeing every weekend. FH said they weren't 'legitimate family' and I said F--- THAT! I knew then this would be a nightmare. My mom just told me she's got to add a couple of people (who didn't get STDs) and FH needs to add a few of his grandmother's friends. Since my parents are paying, I understand them wanting a few friends, but I'm so nervous that FHs parents friends are going to cause an argument since FHs family hasn't offered to pay for anything. Not to mention that in my large Italian family, there are bound to be a few brother/sister fueds. ARG!!! And my invitations aren't even out yet. Not looking forward to today!

PS: I caught my mom calling it 'her' wedding the other day.

OMG.!! Too funny!
Even tho my parents have been divorced for 30 years, they still don't speak to each other! So annoying.
We are definitely doing the seating chart, but getting input from all parents, just to be on the safe side.
But if there is too much trouble over it, some people will just be sitting in the kitchen for all I care!
