Seating Chart: Where to sit guest?!! Eta 2nd question

OMG Since Im about to start getting invitations ready, I decided to start making a template for the Seating chart...
and I am thinking now
WHO TEH HELL SITS WITH WHO?

How does it work? Is there a format???
I know my coworkers/family should go together...

But WHO Sits in the MAIN Table??
Who's in Table #1???? Besides my parents n his paretns???

I only have 108 ppl ....

Is that NOT enough???

Welll, the table numbers were a little arbitrary. We had a little map of where each table would be. The two tables closest to our head table is where we sat (most of) the wedding party. From there, I tried to keep my family on one side and DH's family on the other with the dance floor in the middle. The tables with the best 'view' were actually tables 5 or 6, I think (though that will depend on the lay out of your room) and so we had our parents/ILs sit there so they had the best view of our entrance into the hall and of our first dance. Co-workers and more distant relations/friends were seated toward the back where the DJ was situated. But they also had easy access to the candy buffet and the photobooth so there were really no 'bad' seats. People really were indignant though! My mom was pissed when she read her escort card saying she was seated at table 5. But once she saw where table 5 WAS, she understood.

ETA: The people who sat with my parents at the 'best' table were my grandmother, siblings, godparents, etc. The nearest and dearest, you could say.

ETAA: We had no vendor table- the vendors mostly ate during CH.

First, I just want to say, don't stress yourself over this until you have most of your responses!!! I went over this so many times before and right after my invitations went out, only to find that a lot of people I thought wouldn't come actually came, and vice versa!!! It's like a domino effect - once you have to change one person at a table, you have to change a bunch!

When you are ready to do the seating chart, keep these things in mind:
- Number of people at a table (most round tables seat 8-10 comfortably, but can sit 12)
- Get the seating chart template from your hall - where you think they might put table 1 might be totally off from where they actually put it!
- FH and I have my parents at table 1, his parents at table 2 (all the evens go on one side of the room, all the odds on the other, so keep that in mind also!)
- Don't sit people at the same table if they don't get along!

Also, one thing that is really helping me is I printed out little circles with table numbers on them and taped them up on my wall at home. Then I got little long strips of sticky notes and wrote each guests name on one piece. I am taping the sticky notes to the tables, so if I need to make a change, I can move that person easily!

Most of Fh's Family is like seprate... and X doesnt want to sit with X...
If I dont sit X with X then WTH can I sit them them?!

Like sitting down my Coworkers wioth his uncle??!!!

I am doing my seating chart on weddingwire, saves the work of having to make a template like that.

On my side my first table is my mom, my aunts and uncles and first cousins, 2nd table is bridal party, which includes my sister and other cousins, 3rd table is my mom's first cousins, 4th table is my 2nd cousins, then there rest of the tables are friends, one os my friends from HS, friends from college, friends from work, random friends, fiends from church, and mom's friends

FH's side is similar

i def wouldnt stress over this now...wait til you get your rsvps back.
i started one before I sent out invites and it already messed me up. i had perfect tables of 12 and people i thought were coming are not so it messes around with the numbers.

Also, my plan is to only seat my friends; once we get all the responses, FMIL, my mother and my father are all getting lists of who is attending from their family/friends and are in charge of where they sit! i dont want to stress over who doesnt want to sit with this one or that one...my parents can deal with it!

edit: i also plan to tell them you have 45 guests coming, make them fit at 4 tables (instead of them putting 8 per table and making me pay for more centerpieces!)

108 is DEFINITELY not enough,

You need to invite AT LEAST 125. I would say 130 or 140 for a 100 minimum.
