I got this idea from my videographer.. I thought it was cool and I wanted to pass it on.. It about seating...
One thing I never liked at wedding's was that when you were gettting seated.. you had a number on your table.. and I always felt kinda weird being sat at table 17.. or table 14.. you know what I mean..
Basically it was kinda interprested by me as.. 'You're family.. but there are others who are closer...' and that's cool I totally understand that.
But when I heard this idea.. I thought it was pretty neat.. because I'm just too damn sensitive to other's peoples' friggin feelings.. hehe
A couple had a wedding with a NYC theme.. and they named all the tables after places in New York.. For example, there was the Grand Central table, The Met, etc. and I thought that was pretty cool.
My FW and I are trying to make the wedding as romantic as possible.. and I think I want to the same concept.
I don't know why.. I just like the idea of naming the tables. Sure it may take extra work or $$$.. but it seems cool.
Allright.. that's enough sensistivity crap.. is there a hockey game on? LOL

Table names are nice, if you do a search you will find tons.

we did that, we named our tables of towns in Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago where hubby and I are from. Nothing to do with less importance, we just thought it was another way to personalize our wedding.

Yep! A lot of people do that. My future SIL got married last year in the Hamptons. She named all her tables after places out east i.e. Montauk, South Hampton, Bridge Hampton etc.

i did this at my wedding. we named the tables after all the towns dh and i have lived in.

That is a cool idea. My wedding is on March 7th. The first day of the Sopranos. Everyone is going to have to miss it. So I should name the tables something to do with that . Great idea..

I was thinking of doing the counties in Ireland for our table names but FH said it was not a good idea because most of them come from 1 county (I was surprised he thought that but..oh well) but I am trying to convince him to do towns in that county. Maybe he'll go for that.

Here are two of mine (in spanish). I finished them last night. Now I just have to find the 5x7 frames to put them in.
I love that idea! FH and I are thinking of naming tables after all the vacation places we've been to together.

Fiance and I love country western dancing, and we're having a country themed wedding, we plan to name the tables after all the dances we love to do.

I went to a NASCAR wedding. The groom is a fabricator (spelling) for DEI (Dale Earnhardt Inc) for Michael Waltrip #15 race car. When the bride and groom were introduced for the first time, the DJ played the sounds of the start of a race. If you've been to a NASCAR race, you'll understand the sound.
At the cocktail hour, they had 8x10 frames with names and numbers, but, when we got to the table, our table # was #25, for race driver Jerry Nadue, though we were seated at #2. The die cast car was on a a stand in the center of the table and that was your table. It was such a great touch and so untraditional but suited the groom to a T.
