Seating Question.

I have a bit of a problem with the seating. My Aunt (mothers sister) and uncle (by marrage) are getting divorced after 33 years. This just happened this week. I still want to invite my uncle to the wedding, but how do I seat them. They have 2 aduld children, one of who is married. Originally I was going to seat the whole family together, but now I can`t seat my uncle with my aunt. It will be odd to seat my uncle away from his whole family. What do I do?

Seating Question.

does he have any close friends who will be attending? Maybe you could seat him w/ them. Or you could split up the children, one couple w/ mom and one couple w/ dad. Would you feel uncomforable asking them? I thought my mom would never walk in w/ my dad(divorced 22 years)and she has no problem w/ it. Good luck! Continued success to all...

Seating Question.

Depending on the exact situation, you could seat them at the same table just not sitting next to each other. I have a similar situation with my much older brother. I expect them to be at the same table and be cordial to each other. Hopefully the DJ will have us all up and dancing the hole time anyway!

Seating Question.

I think Heather has good ideas. See if you can split the children up or possibly seat your uncle with other family members that he already knows and will feel comfortable with. My sister went through a similar situation when she got married. My aunt and uncle seperated just before the wedding. She invited both my aunt and uncle (uncle is the family member) but my aunt declined. I guess it was too awkward for her.

SP4747...

I'm in the exact situation. My Aunt (mom's sister), Uncle by marriage, have decided a month ago they're getting divorced after only 13 years, and I have a 13 year old cousin. He's my Man of Honor. I'm very close to all of them, even his side of the family. I've known them since before my cousin was born. Anyway, I plan on inviting all of them. I'm having problems on where to sit my Aunt because his side of the family is angry with her. What'll even be more awkward will be if they bring a significant other with them. I know they're both already dating other people. I'm probably going to sit my Aunt with people from my mom's side, and sit him with his family. Definitely try to sit him with people he knows, so it's not that awkward for him. They'll be so busy, I think in the end we'll realize we're stressing over it too much! Good luck!

SP4747...

I wouldn't suggest spliting up the siblings (children)...I know I would want to sit with my sister despite my parents problems. Here are a couple of ideas... 1. does your mom have other siblings? sit them all together and the children at a separate table with the father. 2. sit him with your fathers side...Im sure after 33 years, hes n\met one or two of your fathers relatives.. 3. ask your aunt what she thinks...is she still bitter...separate them... you also have tons of time...you never know what will happen by november...I was getting nervous when I was first engaged, everyone was telling me that they were coming, but now slowly...people are saying maybe not. i think whatever you do...talk to your aunt (or have your mom talk to her)
