I ordered my dress in white (only came in white or ivory) but now I'm worried it won't look good on my skin tone. I keep reading that white isn't very flattering on most skin tones and that ivory usually looks best. The ivory dress I tried on in the store looked a little yellowish on me so I went with white. Its a Maggie Sottero dress and its silky satin material. Do you think the white will be too much? Trying to see if I should call them and tell them to change the color. It may be too late. TIA

Re: second-guessing dress color
I faced the same situation, where I initially ordered my dress in ivory - only because I was told it would be a better color based on my skin tone. Although, in my heart I always dreamed of white. I kept second guessing myself and it was really on my mind. So, a week later, I called and changed to white and felt a million times better! That's when I knew I made the right decision.
My advice would be to really follow your instinct and to really chose what makes you the most comfortable. When I found my dress, I didnt wear any make-up (I didnt want to get any on the dresses) and it was in the middle of winter. So, I know for the day of...I will have all make-up and plan on having a nice tan too.

Thanks for the advice. Its so true that I should follow my instinct. I always wanted a white dress and love how they look. I'm very indecisive about everything. I should have known I would be about the dress too! Lol.

When I was looking at dresses I found that every designer interprets the colors slightly differently. My dress is 'ivory' but it really looks more like diamond white...other 'ivory' dresses I tried on are true ivory and others are IMO almost yellow. If you tried on the white in your dress and liked it I would not worry because the shade of white was obviously flattering on you.
I agree!

Re: second-guessing dress color
To be honest I thought her white was extremely white and didn't look good on me but that doesn't mean it won't look good on you.
i would just try any dress of hers on in white to see how it would look on you.
