Second Guessing My Dress Choice, Help so confused with pics and poll

Everyone be honest with me please
The dress i bought is amazing, i love it, but i am realizing that the reason it is Baggy on the model is because that is how its supposed to be. I tried on the models dress and it was tight, a size 6 altered to a 4, So the pic of my in the dress i could hardly breath. My dress will be a size 8. So it will be baggy so i can sit and move around without a problem. I could not sit and barely walk in the sample dress.
That being said. I think i am changing my mind. I dont know if i will be happy with the dress when it comes in and it is loose like the models.

There is another dress i really loved as well. Its not a full dropped waist. But its more tight fitting because it does not go under my butt. In the model picture you can see how fitted it looks, and that is how it fit me. And the ballgown was poofy.

What should i do, keep this dress or change my order to the other one?

I dont even want to tell FH, because he is so happy, and i was happy, never in my life did i think he would buy me such an expensive dress but he really loves me and wants me to sooo happy.
But he can tell something is wrong, and that im upset but i keep telling him that i am ok.






See how baggy the dress is, that is how it will fit me when it comes in my size. Can i live with that. If its to tight i cant sit or walk in it.



Here is me in the dress, look how the fabric is loose, and that is with the dress skin tight that i could barely breath. Imagine how it is in my size.

Here is the 2nd dress i was contemplating buying, because the bodice is nice and fitted.
Also this dress is the same exact material, and color as the original dress.

first of all... i think you look amazing in the sample dress. i can only imagine how amazing you'll look when it fits you.

You can most likely have a seamstress alter it to make it fit a little tighter without it being too tight to sit.

That being said... if you arent happy, to the point of being UNHAPPY about this. You might want to talk to your FH about getting a new dress. The most important thing is to feel gorgeous and comfortable and happy on your wedding day. If you settle for a dress you won't be as happy and it'll show all day long and in your pics.

The second dress you posted is gorgeous as well. Perhaps you could talk to a seamstress and see if they can make your original dress look more like that one if it'll make you happy.

You look gorgeous. Second guesssing your dress choice is normal from what i hear. So don't freak out too much about that. Stop and really think about why you're upset.

Ok, here's what I think. This line sticks out to me:

'I could not sit and barely walk in the sample dress.'

Even though it was smaller, I think you're right. A larger one might be baggy like in the model's picture. But then again, maybe it will fit perfectly! You wont know until you get it in the proper size.

I love both dresses....but I will say I think I like the way the second dress lays better. Do you have a pic of you in it?

So cliche, I know....but GO WITH YOUR GUT. If you aren't happy now, less than 1 day after you bought it...I'd definitely think twice. I think it's easy to second guess yourself after you've had a dress for a long time, but after only one day? I dunno, hun.

Either way - both dresses are beautiful! You seriously cannot go wrong with either.

i think you should talk to a seamstress about altering

the alterations will make or break that dress - i saw that the moment i saw it on the model. . . you need someone GREAT bc 'baggy' can look REALLY good OR really bad. . . so you need someone who is going to make it exactly how you want it

get a seamstress' opinion and then make your decision

you can't go wrong with either dress!

I also think you should talk to a seamstress. As you mentioned, the size 6 you had tried on had been altered to a 4, and though the size 8 may fit baggy when it comes in there is no telling how it might fit you when it is altered to your body.
The second dress is absolutely beautiful as well and would not require anywhere near as much altering, so I can totally understand the temptation to go with that choice.
As for telling your FH, you said it yourself - he will be happy as long as you're happy! Whether you choose #1 or #2, you will look most beautiful in the dress you are most comfortable in.
It's a tough decision, but they are both gorgeous and I think either one will wind up looking awesome on you!
Is there anyway to put the order on 'hold' for a few days while you think it over?

i totally agree with bonnie and youre better off changing it now than later

PLEASE just go with what you would want to wear.. not with what your fh or anyone else wants you to wear. This is really the cause of why people have two or three dresses because they went with what someone else told them they looked good in. This is why girls should shop alone or with one person so you don't get turned into buying a dress you don't love.

ANYWAY going back to what you really asked... i wouldn't want a dress to look like a baggy unfitted dress like you said it might be. I highly doubt that is what you had in mind. Call seamstress tomorrow (orders don't get put in until the weekdays anyway .. clothing manufacturers typically are not open on weekends) tell her your concern and if she can't fit it to you properly then order the other dress as long as that is what you want.

Hmmmmm, Nicole! I didn't really even think about why the dress was big on the model...it totally makes sense. I HAVE to say...wear what you want...BUT my brutal honest opinion (you asked)...I LOVE the first dress on you when its tight...I don't really like it on the model baggy. That being said...I think I like the second dress better. You are so petite and a fitted dress (on top) with a nice puffy bottom would look beautiful...not so sure I would like the baggy middle on you.

Moms are so like that.. except for mine. She would be happy with no detail work and its a sheet as long as it was poofy. That is why i told her to keep her opinion to herself.

Hey Nicole? The more I look at the pic of you in dress #1...even though it's 'tight' on you (the first dress), you can tell that the fabric in your middle area isn't laying right - even when its supposed to be tight. You know what I mean? I would think that in a larger size it would even be more baggy. If the model on the runway goes out like that, I imagine that it would cost $$$$$$$$$$$$ for a seamstress to alter it - seems like kenneth poole was going for that look. I'd find out about alterations from a seamstress asap if you wanna keep it.

Somy vote goes for dress #2. You've tried it on, right?

i love it! but i know when and when not to use it.

Bonnie- Yes u see how even though its so tight its still not going to lay perfect, i think it will be so big, alterations are 400 with bustle at wedding salon, so that is a flat fee

I tried on the 2nd dress at Amsale last month, and i loved it, and then at this trunk show it wasnt there on thursday but i requested it to try it again and they got it in for me on saturday.

I love the 2nd one, its a little more ballgown than i thought i wanted, but i feel like a princess in it. and i think its a great match, i get that dropped waist look and get to feel like a princess

I really like dress #1 on you. It fits your body perfectly. Like some of the girls have already mentioned you should speak with a seamstress and get her opinion about it.
