Second Marraige Bridal Shower?

just talking with a friend whom the MOH refused to throw the bride a bridal shower because she says etiquette wise it isnt done, is this true?

I know people dont usually have a second baby shower so i guess it makes sense but I figured I'd ask the wedding crew.

Re: Second Marraige Bridal Shower?

This will be my second marraige and I will not be having one. But that was my decision. I just didn't feel right asking my family (90% of who would be invited to the shower) for another gift. And honestly, we have almost everything I would put on a registery anyway. But I do not think it is wrong with having a shower for a second marriage if that is what the bride/bride's family/bridal party want to do.

Re: Second Marraige Bridal Shower?

This is my second marriage as well, and I don't think I'll be having one either. I think it's different when you're just starting out, and need EVERYTHING, and now, I really dont need a thing

Re: Second Marraige Bridal Shower?

my second time around too, but the first was in 1986. My sisters threw me a shower a couple of weeks ago, it was wonderful. Gifts were mostly kitchen stuff (from pampered chef party my sis threw a couple months agao) I loved it. But I am a lot older than most of your ladies...my original things needed replacing.

Re: Second Marraige Bridal Shower?

i will be going to a bridal shower for a second time wedding in a few weeks. The bride herself did not want one but her FH has never been married and his mother wanted her to have one so her FMIL will be throwing it for her.

As her friend I think this is good. She has been divorced for a few years now and she is starting a new life and deserves new things.

I think it could be more low key than the first (which the one I am attending will not be) but it is nice to have something.
