Re: Second Thoughts About Everything

Where there is a will there is a way and remember that the day is going to be amazing no matter where you have it.

Secondly you can have a great wedding for 15,000 by having it in winter months or choosing a Sunday day or Thursday night in summer months. I have seen many people on here say that it is possible, just search for the best deal and prices

everything will work out...its going to all fall into place one day and you will be so happy...as for when the wedding is, it doesnt really matter if you have a summer or winter wedding, its the fact that you will be marrying your FH and when or where are all just small details...keep looking for a job around where you live and he will get a position soon.

i hope you are feeling better today

Your wedding day should be something to remember for the rest of your life. Please dont get yourself down everything will work out for the better and you will found a great place to get married at. Do you want something cheap PP? If so look at the Meadow CLub im paying 63pp.

Oh HUGS

No matter what you decide to do.. you are going to have a gorgeous wedding just remember that! You can definitely get better prices in the winter months. I picked March because it was a better price,,, I didn't want to be too warm on my wedding day..... and it's coming into spring.. so you can still do SPRINGY things that you may have wanted.

But any wedding that you create will end up being the wedding of your dreams becaause you and FH will end up married and blissfully happy.

not to be nosey but are you on any type of medication for your anxiety or do you see a therapist? panic attacks are something that you can overcome - i know this from experience....i think that is the first thing you need to do - because the faster you get a job and can start saving some money the easier it will be to plan your wedding i know its not easy but you cant let it hold you back! good luck!

and dont worry too much - everything will work itself out - luckily we have this website to get great creative ideas and find great inexpensive vendors!

I agree with everyone that no matter what, your wedding will be beautiful! I stress all the time and think FH and I are in over our heads. I just graduated and I do not start a teaching job until March so right now I am trying to sub and I still have my part-time job. Plus, the job I start is only a leave replacement and not permanent and I don't know what I will do this summer! Basically, we are just trying to cut extra spending and stick to a budget. We are getting married at the end of March on a Saturday during the day. I always dreamed of a summer beach wedding but I am so excited about my wedding now even though it will be different than what I once thought! FM me if you ever want to vent or exchange cost-cutting ideas! Good luck!

Dont worry everything will work out forthe best. I am in the same kind of situation and I have called off the wedding a few time b/c of it. The less you stress that better off you will be!

i'm sorry your feeling like this, but don't worry everything will be fine. i completely understand how hard it is financially.. no matter how much you try to save and cut corners, it all adds up so quickly. but just remember that everyhing will work out the way its suppose to and your wedding will be perfect!!

All that matters is that you are walking down to the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with.

We are having a small wedding because we do not want the pressure. Have you considered having a destination? this way you wont have to worry about anyone except who is invited...

winter weddings are MUCH more inexpensive. Anything from April til November will be higher than Jan- March. You can try Jericho Terrace or Chateau LaMer. Check out the website below. All you do is pick an area (suffolk, nassau, ny, nj) and a list of halls will pop up with info on pricing and what not. Try it out!

Re: Second Thoughts About Everything

I understand your frustrations! But as my FH reminded me today (bc I had a meltdown about money) We still have over a year a lot can change. Hang in there and stay positive!! Things will fall into place, they always do.

I know how you feel! Sometimes I get so worried about how much money this wedding is going to cost. Stay positive and continue looking for a job. In the mean time heres some hugs

Re: Second Thoughts About Everything

Though you are experiencing some type of frustration, and maybe a little bit of despair because you dont know what is going to happen, I really think you and FH are handling the situation very well.

I think that, in and of itself is most important. Though you may not know if you can have the big wedding or the wedding you really want, just from reading the initial post, I can see a lot of LOVE beyond the wedding, the ring, and the stress.

I think that's awesome. FH and you seem to maintain your composure throughout it all. And knowing that you two can support each other is what means the most!

Dont sweat the small stuff. I have nothing planned either and my FH is waiting on a new job from the city also...its all about a waiting game...

I'm sorry that you're going through this. Financial difficulties are the worst! I went through it 6 years ago and it was horrible, because it's all you ever think about and there just never seems to be any money to do anything.

A friend of mine was in your position and what she did was get married on a Friday at city hall and then for her year anniversary they had the church wedding and reception that they wanted.

Just try to keep everything in perspective...a wedding is a celebration of you and FH starting a new life together. It's not the marriage.

I think the winter wedding sounds nice...you could still do a beachy type theme in the winter and you will save a ton. Things will work out.... have you considered going away and getting married and then when you both can afford it throw a party at a later date to celebrate?

Re: Second Thoughts About Everything

sorry to hear about that! i suggest you do can that is within a budget that you know you can both do, and make the payments w/o going into debt, you can also consider a smaller wedding and in the winter sounds fine because its cheaper the beginning months of the year

Re: Second Thoughts About Everything

I can't thank you girls enough for taking time to write to me with all your suggestions and support!!! It means so much to me!

You all gave me so many ideas to save money and all the girls who FMed me...thank you so much!! You made it seem so much more do-able!

FH was so cute last nite, he asked if I needed anything on the way home, so I said 'yea, some money!' So he came home and gave me $50 lolz..he said I sounded so sad and pathetic on the phone lolz. So I said NOOO put that back in the bank..and he thought I was crazy..so I told him all the thoughts I had that day and we started talking about everything again and he always makes me feel so much better. I told him some of the suggestions you girls made and we think we're going to book a hall at least and see if they let us pay small payments at first. Anything we book we are going to get the most simple package they have , and if things start to look up for us we can always add stuff. I never really thought of doing it that way, so it was kind of like a 'duh' moment when FH suggested doing it that way. I'm just scared of all the places, DJs, photographers etc..are going to be booked once I find a hall. But I am trying not to get ahead of myself and worry about things that haven't happened yet.

I started researching a few places in NJ that are only about an hour drive from my house (so basically the same time as a place in Long Island) and I found some for around $65-80pp, so we think we are going to take a look at those also. One has pictures by the water, however it doesn't say anything about it being by the water..so I'll have to check into it...

I am still frustrated, but I am feeling a LOT better. Thank you all soooo much!!!! If I can help anyone, with anything, just let me know!!

xOx!!!
