Secrets and El Dorado....

We booked our HM 10 days 5 at Secrets and 5 El Dorado. Both have these awesome HM packages. It took us a long time to figure out where to go....

Now we need to start all over because there both not going to be ready by the time we go on our HM both got hit by the Hurricanes!

Does anyone have any suggestions on places to go that will be comprable to what we were getting there?

We had the casitas at El Dorado everything was beautiful!!!

this isnt the first thing that has been ruined by weather for wedding! FH bachlor party was in New Orleans booked and everything and Emily hit.

I told FH its going to blizzard for the wedding I just know it!

We had to change our honeymoon to, we are doing ARuba. My friend really liked SEcrets in DR, although you can't really go off the resort.

There are a lot of Palace Resorts in that area. I believe most of them are already up and running or never closed at all (Moon Palace and Adventuras Spa). Just not sure about how bad the surrounding area will be.

I just read on the Secrets website that it will be reopening its doors on November 25th! If you go to the website and click on hurricane advisory it will give you daily updates about their resorts, as well as others in the area!

I read some of the reviews on Tripadvisor from people who just got back from staying at the resorts and they said the damage is pretty bad...the website says it will reopen in early December now.

Maybe look into Jamaica, Aruba, St. Lucia, or check into the Couples Resorts, or the Secrets in Punta Cana?

We switched to the Rui Palace in Cabo.

I was really looking forward to the casita in El Dorado though

Moon Palace is not opening until December 20th and the Aventura is totally booked up. Our honeymoon got ruined too!

I am sorry, that really stinks. Try Dreams all-inclusive in Los Cabos Mexico. The west coast of Mexico is really nice, I have never been to the Dreams resort though. It sure looks nice on the website.

What about Sandals White House Jamaica. Or Sandals in St.Lucia.

There is also Aruba, no hurricane will be hitting there.

We're going to Acapulco now...the airfare prices were a major concern with going almost anywhere though! Whatever you plan, plan it fast!

From what the sites say they should be open mid december. You probably would have been ok.

We still havent rebooked anything yet....

We are narrowed down to Coasta Rica 4 Seasons, Nevis 4 Seasons, or Dreams in Cabo.

Our honeymoon was also cancelled due to the hurricane. We are now booked and very excited about going to Acapluco. I havent heard anything bad about it and it is always in the high 80's....
