Seeing FH before Cermony or after?

Seeing FH before Cermony or after?

I cannot see him before I feel that that is the whole point of it all. Him seeing me in the white dress and then taking the pics. What about you girls.

Posted a pic of my dress, any comments? TRUTH too! LOL

I do fitness and been in mags. and all the dresses that I have tried on with beadings and all just weren't me, I was getting so depressed and people were telling me 'did I cry' when I tried on dresses??? and I was like YEAH because I can't find any that look right on my body style!!!!! So the lady at Lillettes' picked this one out and I tried it on and it was all over!

i feel the same. we are having the ceremony and reception at the same location and will not have time in between to take pictures without missing our cocktail hour. but, i jst can't see him befoer the wedding; i want to get our first peeks at each other at the altar.

your dress is absolutely beautiful! that's the dress i always pictured in my head, but never found in a store! now, it's too late (i'm getting married in 10 days ), but i'm sure you will look beautiful in it.

Your dress is BEAUTIFUL!!!

I am actually seeing FH before the ceremony. Like soebmh, I'm getting married at my hall and, truthfully, we've spent so much $$ on this wedding that we don't want to miss sharing it with our friends & family who've come from all over the country to be with us.

I'm not 100% cool with it because, of course, I grew up with the idea in my head that I'd see FH at the altar first. But, we are going to have our 'first moment' of seeing each other and it's still going to be a moment of emotion and anticipation. It just won't be at the ceremony.

It's definitely a tough call --- especially I think when you're getting married at the hall and there's no real 'break' in between.

We are definitley not seeing each other. he won't even let my try on my veil and tiara on when he is around! And I am not allowed to show him my dress. I didn;t think he'd be that way at all!

We're not sure yet, but I'm leaning towards seeing him. I HATE the idea of seeing him before the wedding, but I REALLY REALLY HATE the idea of missing even a moment of cocktail hour. We'll see.....

Oh and the dress - GORGEOUS! I love it

Me too he doesn't want to see my veil, shoes or anything. I can't wait for that moment. I wish we could all go to each other's wedding's!

Dh wanted the surprise of it all. And the 'moment' of seeing me walk down to him. I know it's an 'all day' affair, but it was important for us to not see each other and have that 'special moment' with the music playing, and my mom walking me down the aisle and seeing him up there beaming!! It was amazing and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

We still got 400+ pictures, even without seeing each other before.

Re: Seeing FH before Cermony or after?

We are def not seeing each other beforehand. One of the photographers we met with gave us a hard time saying we would miss our cocktail hour. We don't care. I want the first time he sees me that day to be me walking down the aisle.

I definately didnt want to see him beforehand BUT were getting married and having the reception at the same place and we dont want to miss the cocktail hour, so we are going to meet before and were having the videographer and photographer there with us.

we saw eachother before hand because we wanted to be at the CH but after all was said and done, we just sat in the bridal suite after the ceremony alone coming off the cloud we were on so we never made it there anyway!!! but i don't regret seeing him before. our photographer made it a big surprise by having him brought in with his eyes closed so it was still special..whatever you feel strongly about is what you should go with..always trust your gut.

I am going to try to take pictures of me and my family and BM before the ceremony and pictures with my FH during the cocktail hour. That way I hope I can make it to part of the CH. But I really don't want to see my FH before - I want him to be totally surprised as I walk down the altar.

Thats what we did. I am very glad we met earlier and took pictures. It gave us a chance to go to Westbury Gardens and take some beaiutiful pics that we will cherish the rest of our lives.

We're getting married at the reception hall too. We are NOT seeing each other before the ceremony. After the RD he's off to the hotel and I'm off to our apt. We will both be there getting pics taken in the a.m., but with family and bridal party only. (Another reason we hired a DOC w/asst. - to make sure we don't see each other!) During CH we will take our pics together and remainder of shots. We had an extra 1/2 hr. thrown into our CH so we could at least get to enjoy some of it. (Tip given to us by our Best Man!)

We saw each other before the ceremony and I'm so glad we did. It let us really enjoy and spend the entire day together. It also took away some of the nerves for the ceremony.
I wasn't crazy about our choice leading up to it, but I can't tell you how happy I am with it now. In fact my BIL already did and one of my BM are planning on doing the same thing. They loved how noone felt rushed on our wedding day and we had so many more pictures to choose from.
