We are getting married at the hall, (not my first choice) I don't want to miss the cocktail hour and I really wanted to take pictures at Old westbury Gardens. Does anyone does have a similar problem?

We got married at the hall and this is what we did....
We all got ready at the hotel....me and my girls met up with DH and the guys in the lobby of the hotel, we then went to take pictures and then to the hall for the ceremony. I was so glad that I saw DH before the ceremony. It helped me feel less nervous.

We're old fashioned, we won't be taking pictures before the ceremony. We wanted to do the Gardens as well, but I love our hall and it's grounds as well, so we decided to do all our pictures there instead.

I sucked it up and missed the cocktail hour. I don't regret it at all-I was so happy to see him for the first time from across the aisle.

we're going to have a staged 1st seeing of eachother b4 the ceremony so we can get all our pics done so we can go to the CH

That might be part of my problem. When we booked the hall it was winter so nothing was bloomed, we saw pics and it looked beautiful. I was so excited, I was there last week and it looked so plain and boring. It's may, some things should be bloomed by now.

We are getting married in a church so I will not be seeing FH before the ceremony (we will have 3 hours in between church and reception to take pictures). But my friend got married at her catering hall, and she wishes that she did see her husband beforehand. Because she didn't, they missed their CH to take pictures with husband and BP, and was pulled out of her reception for about an hour to take pictures with family. This may not be the case for everyone, but they both have a very big family, so that was why it went into her reception.

We will see each other...we just don't want to annoy our guests with missing parts of the reception nor do we want to miss the CH....we've been planning all this food and we want to eat it!

we are seeing each other. the ceremony is at the hall with the CH right after and we don't want to miss any of the party to take pics. All the formal pictures will be finished before the ceremony. I have no issues with doing this, but everyone is different.

We moved our ceremony up by 3 hours and moved it out of the hall just so we didn't have to see each other in advance to take pictures.

We did this and it worked perfectly!!!!
We met in the Chapel 2 hrs before the ceremony, it was special, (and the first time he saw me I was walking down the isle, just alone) and we enjoyed the whole party!!!

A resounding NO! This is the only issue I am being a bridezilla about. I refuse to see FH before the wedding. We already live together and see each other everyday - I want this one to be extra special. Plus, the ceremony and reception are at the same place and our photographer takes more of a photo-journalistic approach so pics shouldn't take that long. Oh, and we're not having a CH either....

We are seeing each other before the ceremony. I am staying right next door at the Inn the night before, so I will make my grand entrance for him coming down the stairway into the lobby of the hotel and we will do some pics from there.

DH and I got married at our hall also. And both of our parents didn't like the fact that we see each other before hand. It was really hard not to see someone after seeing them everyday for 3 years. Also we didn't get to see our cocktail hour. i was pretty bummed but I got over it.

I would rather miss the cocktail hour than have him see me iny my dress before i walk down the aisle. JMO
