I just realized that if we have an evening wedding, we'll be taking wedding pictures during the day since we would definitely want daytime shots.
Is this the norm??
Shouldn't the groom see you for the first time AT the wedding ceremony?

everyone is different...but for me...no way, no how am i seeing FH before the ceremony. when the doors open and i'm being escorted down the aisle...that is the exact moment i want to see him and vice versa.
i know it's 'practical' to see each other before hand and take pics...but i just hate that idea. then again, i'm also going the 'traditional' route and not attending the CH...we will be announced for the first time at the reception.

I don't think I'm going to be practical.
I've started my venue search all over again so I can have a ceremony first AND then picture time.

Us too. FH refuses to see each other in advance for pictures. To get around it we are doing pics separately before the ceremony with family & bridal party. At cocktail hour we will do group pics and formals together.

we are taking them inbetween. I really want to surprise him and make my entrance to him at the church. only problem is time because we only have an hour inbetween ceremony and reception .. but the ceremony is at 11 am so there really is no time before that anywyas. i'm sure it will work out just fine!

we are seeing each other before the wedding. The photog suggested it to cut down on time. She said that she usually empties out the church so it is just bride/groom and her in the room and she captures the moment and some alone time before the wedding actually starts to settle nerves. I thought that this was a fabulous idea and wil be a special moment between the two of us...

definitely seeing each other before ceremony for pics, i wanna enjoy the whole cocktail and reception, but its a personal choice.... but i must say from weddings i've been in before, even when your groom sees you during pics beforehand its still just as amazing when you walk down that aisle, he'll be shocked all over again

I agree 100%. I want to enjoy our CH. Plus, we only have 1 hr b/t the ceremony and reception. I want more time to take pics. We are getting married in the same place as reception.

We had an AM wedding and saw eachother before, iwas the best thing. The photographer set up a special moment where DH walked into the room and saw me for the first time and got it on camera it was so nice. DH cryed adn all, then we had the ceremony and it was so nice. Plus we got to go to someof our CH and didnt get taken out of the reception. MOst photography place actually suggested to us that we do see eachtoher before.
